Hello all,

First let me say how much fun I've had with Uncommon Valor, and I look forward to playing your future stratgegy games -- hopefully on my new 17'' PowerBook G4.

I realize that your not into Mac's currently, but do you think you could at least make your sim's work under Virtual PC for Mac and Windows? The Mac version of Virtual PC (the virtual PC created), on paper, meets your requirements for UV, but UV, patched, won't start for me.

If you could at least get your games working under Connectix, you could open yourself to a Mac/Connectix market. Hell, I'll even buy your copies of Connectix for you (a reasonable amount -- of course.)

Obviously, I'd like an OS X version, but I realize that's probably a stretch. Thanks for the fun, and I can't wait for your next strategy games.

Sincerely,
Chuck Kays

I am not saying we do it but could you explain what is needed to make a game work with Mac/Connectix. Thank you for your help.

Understood.

The problem is that when I use Connectix/WinMe the game will not start. I have renamed the video folder, used the icon that starts the game directly (not the game menu) -- still no go.

What happens is the game appears to try to start (it reads the HD, reads the disk) but still dies. Also, it seems that I get a bit closer to playing the game using Connectix/WinMe rather than using Connectix/WinXP -- which isn't surprising.

I'm running Connectix 6.02 on my 17'' PowerBook G4. I'd be happy to discuss this over the phone -- if we can get a solution more quickly.

Sincerely,
Chuck Kays

Me too!

My current PC is only 2 years old. It is a quality PC with quality parts. I have just lost my second hard disk. I can hardly believe it.

I went to my local MAC shop and they had Virtual Windows installed on a G4 desktop.

I installed UV OK.

But it would not run.

If all Matrix games ran I would be tempted to switch to a MAC

I know the story.

I'm in the IT business -- have used nothing but Intel since 92 -- but still couldn't be happier with my PowerBook.

I'm more an adder (use Intel and PowerPC) than a switcher (exclusively Mac). While I need to maintain some work projects on BSD(x86) and Win2k boxes, my Mac has become my primary development workstation. Also use it for fun (Harpoon 3 works like a champ on it).

Anyways, everyone's mileage will vary on a Mac, but it's been great for me.

Sincerely,
Chuck Kays
