On the other hand, Soviet probably probably can afford to lose at least Moscow, if not both, in terms of industry and manpower. Therefore, if both opponents can agree on a house rule victory condition and disregard the Bitter End victory points, Soviet players may have a better room to maneuver and fully utilize their skills.

Fully agree here. Simply chose the default 290VP VC campaign and the Soviets have more freedome to maneuver.

If the soviet lose Leningrad and Moscow as well as up to Stalino in 1941 its pretty much game over. Since the soviet manpower nerf of patch .07 the soviet cannot recover enough men/CV to get back on the historical track.

Now if the soviets could retake moscow and keep it maybe, as all that manpower would repair....but thats almost impossible since moscow is a huge safe haven for the germans in blizzard for 1941 so retaking it with Soviet CV is almost impossible.

Soviet replacement generation is now much to low, esp with the higher combat losses and higher attrition losses from the newer patches. Longer term if you lose the 2 cities that the soviet historically held all war you lose the game...let me caveat by saying unless the german player makes a huge mistake which we have seen. As long as the germans go to an attrition game at and dont overreach its game over.

Which is the problem since .07....more commonly with skilled german play- even with skilled soviet play both of those cities are falling far quicker than they should.

I agree. Running steadily could have worked all the time, but then defending Moscow for too long without the flexibility to step back very often leads to a collapse of the front, and an early loss by Soviet player which they don't deserve.

On the other hand, Soviet probably can afford to lose at least Moscow, if not both, in terms of industry and manpower. Therefore, if both opponents can agree on a house rule victory condition and disregard the Bitter End victory points, Soviet players may have a better room to maneuver and fully utilize their skills.

You can maybe loose the industry, manpower et everything at moscow and keep fighting, the problem is the victory point for the scenario bitter end that is based and balanced on historical results.
(As it should be, but then moscow fall very easily unlike in real life.
Unlike real life also, the german army can concentrate troops to take moscow and leningrad because it do not need the caucasus oil to be able to keep fighting a war of movement).

There are a number of them but the primary rule is, German panzers need to stay within 2 hex of each other. In other words, zoc needs to be continuous up to the infantry line.

Of course, where there is absolutely no threat of being isolated, such as in crimea, this restriction is relaxed.

I have received turn 3 back. I have to say that I am severely disappointed since a house rule that was agreed to has been broken twice in one turn on just one of the agreed to rule. If I can not have faith in this one house rule being adhered to how can I have faith in the rest of the game. I will decide what to do.

With all due respect, I would appreciate it if you could first discuss with me and bring a charge or a complaint, rather than just decide it and declare the judgment one-sidedly. Anyway, I probably know which one you are talking about and in that case, it's not twice but thrice

Still, I expect to hear the details about your accusation.

I don't have to accuse you. You already know what happened ;-) The PM was already sent to you about this.

Whether I know or not does not alter your duty right? I hope as a courtesy you could make it clear what exactly the "violation" is, after declaring if not accusing it. You still haven't mentioned any details here or in the email and I can't reach you on discord.

Only by knowing definitely what you are referring to can I put up some defense, if that is allowed.

Beender and I have conversed on Discord on a course of action that will be taken. There was a misunderstanding on both of our parts that should have been ironed out before the game. We were too much in a rush to get into the game to take care of the finer details only to hurt the game when the situation arose. I want to say thank you to Beender for being a total gentleman during this time. I respect that.

Thank you for being so kind. I am very glad that we solved the issue through friendly talks and it was quite a pleasure to hear real voice It's a pity that the game has to be aborted due to insufficient clarification of a house rule but hopefully we will do a rematch later with better adjusted rules. Also, thanks for the AAR!

Ho the game stopped ? It is sad. We will never known the result and we could have learned a lot about the current balance of the game.

There is no shame in loosing, i loose all the time and it is not such a traumatic experience to be avoided at all cost

In fact, after a time loosing become natural and easy I speak with huge experience on the matter.

If think there are lawyers among the WitE players, not sure about judges. What we need is a WitE court, supported by a team of IT specialists (of which we have some too I think) which can help if there is a suspect of cheating (the latter thing is not a commentary on the game in question here), which decides on the base of the constitution devised by the legendary founding father of the community, Gary Grigsby.

In Germany, there is a Skat court (traditional and popular card game in Germany), dealing with questions of importance like "does a game become voided if the visibility of the cards is reduced due to sunlight".

Might be a good idea to tell the board the problem with the house rule.

So in future others can avoid it.
