Been trying to capture some screens off this game, but it comes out too much dull or not smooth as ingame shot. Is there a way around this?

Sounds like you are using some utility which is set to less than 100% resolution. Some software is offered free that way and you pay for the ability to get 100%. There are free & open source utilities out there which are 'completely free' in the sense you get the full version for free (often you are given a chance to donate to the volunteer developers if you wish to do so). I use Greenshot (greenshot.org). Beware that advertisers often try to fool you into thinking their ad is the actual button to download the software, even though their ad has nothing to do with the software or its web site, so read carefully before clicking on what you judge to be the download button.

I always found Alt Print Screen to be a bit superior to the Ctrl version

I use ScreenHunter to snap, Irfanview to edit and if needed GIMP 2.8 to collate, etc. With GIMP you can also create animated GIFs. All of those are free. I also use Screencast-O-Matic to record video. It is free for basic version, and that's all I use. When you export from GIMP it asks about resolution, with 90% as the default. I always up it to 100%.

Also, with ScreenHunter, it allows you to set one of your function keys as the trigger. I use F11, it overrides the game use for that F key, but I never use the F keys in the game anyway.

The default setting in ScreenHunter has you selecting a box for the pic. I change the default to full screen and crop it later.

That what I did, came out dull and didn't match what I saw while in the game. What I have here is really smooth and nice. Note I have used -TrueColor tho.

Well I can try something else, when I opened it with Window Paint or Viewer, look the same but not what I saw. Havent tried window mode, not sure if that will work or not, but I don't like using Window and the setting in the game is 1024x768. Making the text easier to read and long with it with stats, etc.

Hold on, let me find a upload site so I can upload this pic.
Hmm I cant seem to find a free reliable upload site so I can post the pictures here. Does anyone know which? Found one, made the picture worst as .jpeg format.

I use Gimp as well, dunno about that ScreenHunter, never heard of it. Next time I get back in the WitP:AE I will copy and paste it on Gimp and see what the result is.

Like btd64, it is my method as well and it has never given me resolution issues

That could be your problem. The correct switch to get the best color in game is -deepColor

I am sorry I meant -deepColor, though it was TrueColor. Been awhile since I seen those parameters. Must have gotten mix up with something else.

I figured out what it was, the original map or the graphics are the same, but while in game has smooth effects or blend in and doesn't effect the lettering or words. Look really good, dunno if I can take a snap shot of my camera and see if it will show or not.

Anyway has something to do with my video card. At first though it will blend in or make it look better for 3D games and software, but it is 2D as well.
