Well as Kaybayreay said some time ago, “Theres more than one way to choke a dog”…this is mi brief análisis on a way, to discuss if it´s doable to knock axis aircrat production, or even lower it to level that permit allied player to enjoy more clear skies over the reich. I know that maybe this post is a few years late, but still some players around that could read en express opinions on it. Anyway, it was fun to write and study this questions.
Brief análisis on axis aircraft production
“Searching for the Golden bullet, Texeiro versión”
Well since the game was released, I guess every one is looking for the way to win.
There are in my humble opinión two path (not ways, there are multiple ways, but two path)
1- The dirty way: Just AREA bombign, scoring terror points. Very used as I read in the fórums for experimented players. Creep back and dispersal bombing could be good things in this strategical choice. It requires good misión planning, of course, but just choosing cities. IIRC terror only counts if bombing is in 3rd Reich land.Bombing occupied countries is not working.
2- The elegant way: ok, that s what i want to discuss here. This way requieres quite more detailed industrial targets selection and firmly mantain the election along the years.

I found that a s oft point in the luftwaffe belly is the aircraft replacemente rate (and pilots f course) But I{ ll try to expose my deductions, to debate if this strategy is going to work.
The two axis day figthers allied player will face are Bf-109 G (G-6) and Fw 190 (A5-A/6) at least at early campaign. So, to break Luftwaffe replacement rate, allied player has to deal with those planes in the air and ground, (the Factory, by bombing and the airbase by doing FS) . Lets see in detail:
AC Engine Parts
Bf 109 G-6 DB 605 A Bf 109 parts
Fw 190 A-5 BMW 801 D2 Fw 190 parts
Fw 190 A-6 BMW 801 D2 Fw 190 parts

Bf 109 engine is used by Me-110 and Me-201 too. Hitting the factories, could be a good way to slow down Me-110 production, the main NJ in the early campaign.
Bf-109 parts are comon to almost all the G family (G-2 G-5, G-6, G-6/U4N NJ)
Focke engine is used also by Fw series A, F , G and Ju -388 NJ.
Parts are common to al Fw 190 early series.
Ok, what we do with this information?
As allied player we have a lot of Intel gathering through a spies network , resistance, political dissidents all over occupied Europa, so, we know quite precisely what, where and how much axis are producing. Use next information wisely, it cost many lives….

We know, that at starting campaign, axis factories produce daily:
32 Bf-109 G-6
13 Fw-190 A6
9 Fw-190 A-5
This is the replacement rate we want to break or slow down!
We know that Bf-109 engine production it s fine. They produce 72 DB 605 A in daily basis, and 71 are needed, to equip 109´s 110´s and 210´s. They´re good in this area. Even more, they got plans to expand production to 75 and have 39 brand new engines in stock at campaign start. So, even knowing where the engine is produced, this effort worth it?
DB Sindelfingen
Steyr-Daimler-Puch
Bussing NAG
DB Genshagen

Maybe, hitting big factories producin this engine could start to slow down a bit the producction. Ok, could try with these, there is produced 50% of total DB 605 A:

What about 109 parts? That is the bottle neck in 109 production. By mid september, 1943, axis factories are producing 34 parts, but 37 are required. By that date there wasn ´t plans to expand parts fabrtication, but we couldn´t suspect that this keeps in this way. So there´s a déficit in Bf-109 parts production as early as the campaign start. again, here is a hint that our comrades in Die Festung Europa gently has given to us:
Factories with high production :
Klagenfurt
Atzgersdorf
Prufening
Factories in ocupied Europe, close range:
Caudron-Renault
Morane-Saulnier
Nantes-Potez
Stampe-et-Vertongen

What about 190´s?
Well the reverse of the 109´s , the Fockes are in engine déficit. Axis produce 30 BMW 801 D2 but requires 32 and got 14 in stock at campaign start. They have an small surplus in parts. 23 required, 26 produced.
So what to hit? Focke engine´s factories seems a good target. Here we go:
BMW Barsdorf
BMW Eisenach
BMW Munchen
BMW Spandau
BMW Eisenach Waffenfabrik

Ok Bf 109 G-6 and Fw 190 A-5/A-6 are the most numerous axis day figthers, but what about NJ?
This elegant way, it s builded around Bomber command. We know that 8th AF it s not enough powerfull at the begining of the campaign. It lacks for long range escorts basically. So all these of knocking aircraft production thing it´s about to trying to clear skies and make them safer for the 8th AF heavies, so they can bomb almost freely. Bu tour Lancasters, Mosquitos , Halifax and even Stirlings need some love to. And if we followed these steps, we were doing it.
In two of the BMW factories there is also production of DO 217 J engine too. DB 601 it s also used in Me-110 . Those are the early backbone of Nachtjager force. Ju-88? He-219? .We take care of those later.

Well let´s suposse, that with this elegant strategy, we paralize for a about a month the enemy aircarft production . (If we destroy or heavy damage a Factory, the production get dispersed to new factories, and retooling take 30/36 days.) We keep doing, nigth after night. But we need two legs to walk.

Two legs and allied Barbarrosa.
If we paralize or slow down axis aircraft production we got one leg. THe other, to concrete de disruption of replacement rateis destroy them. In air combat, of course, but esentially in ground. So we have to plan in paralel, an allied Barbarossa. In the fisrt turns, we need to hit the maximun enemy airfield as posible, destroying or damaging many many axis aircraft by figthers sweeps and bombing. The Intel again, suggest what to hit:
Leeuwarden
Woensdrecht
Tille
Schipol
Beaumont Le roger
Delen
Wewelghem
If posible Twente.
A good source of axis aircraft to destroy is Italy. There, taking sun baths are the JG77, JG53, SKG 10 and some others. Well, let's make them think that it would be better to be on the eastern front, attacking:
Fabrizia
Palizzi
Crotone
Vibo Valentia
Chilivani.
The side quests.
This is not real war. If it were, we could think that a long term strategy, with not so many losses and taking our time to attack could do the job. But this is a game, and we need points to win, even worst, if we do not do this every so many turns , we lose. Hitting aircraft production factories will give us strategical bombing points. Besides that, we got some politicians that are saying “do this, do that”. OK, before these damned order us something, we will do it, which will allow us to avoid the mandatory targes and also get points of industrial damage. I strong recommend starting the campaign with recce over UFACs, and early attack on its, by bomber comand, starting with the highest production factories. Yo know what they are, It´s just a trip to Hamburg or Bremen. Anyway, here you are:
Blohm& Voss
Krupp Germania Werft
Bremen Seebeck
Deutsche Schiff

Of course there are another juicy targets to score industrial damage points. We could be tempted by these targets, they are Rubber, Ball bearings, also “critical industries”. And there is a trap in those, we could discuss later. I suggest just a couple raids, sporadicaly to kkep the damage going.

To be continue

Re: Terror Bombing, I found that anywhere west of the longitude that includes Amsterdam (approx) will not yield terror points.

I'm enjoying this game again "defending the Reich" after playing almost exclusively on the offensive since purchasing it almost 10 years ago.

Lessons learned will be incorporated for the next patch** into some AI enhancements for the defender, especially the Axis in BTR.

**More details to follow over the next few months

Great info. So if we hit some part of Belgium and Netherland still count as terror???
