Brilliant...my thoughts on AI vs humans exactly...

"The AI in Armored Brigade is done well enough to keep the average wargamer on his toes. It will not (no AI will) be competitive to a gamer who plays one game sixteen hours a day for a month or two. I will say if that is your life, you are not a wargamer, just a person in need of a new hobby or something."

"Are there games out there with bad AIs, yes. Is this one of them, no. The defense rests."

I think that continuing to improve the AI will be important for the long-term longevity of the game, but honestly it seems like the AI is getting way more time under the microscope than it deserves seeing as the AI does a decent job and the game was just released. A branching campaign system would probably go further to pick up more sales in the short term, which is what we need if the AI is going to be improved eventually.

+1

I keep picking on Close Combat tonight, but the AI has seen so little improvement after so many $40 releases, I have given up hope. Unless we see a new engine and not another re-hash.

The beauty of AB, is there are so many tools and options that you can work around where the AI is weaker. The last Close Combat needed that map mod just for the AI to be playable. Now multiplayer can be a different story, and I have to give credit to CC there.

Oh, almost forgot. Great review AWNT!

Thank you guys for the kind words.

I really only added the bit on AIs because it was being questioned so hard.

Thanks again
