I have officially offered my letter of resignation. I have requested removal of moderation duties and beta team testing along with account deletion.

I am struggling through a very difficult time in my life battling manic depression and anxiety disorder that 6 months of treatment and medication aren't curing. This has nothing to do with MatrixGames or anyone associated within it. I'm severing ties to all gaming agencies and beta groups I have been associated with. I can't even find the heart and will to get out of bed anymore never the less enjoy video games. I have struggled over this decision for quite some time before making it final.

I wish all of you the best of luck in all of your ventures. May God be with you all.:)

I concur with M4, take some time off. Your one of those SPWAW gods that should be celebrated, and toasted at fancey dinners. All the time and effort that you and your fellow moderators and testers have put in can never be repaid but IMHO is greatly appreciated by all. I know it is by me.

Hi Guys

Need I say I am shocked as well. I ask that you do not put any presure on Mike and I will talk with him and maybe just give him a break.

Mike please send me an email, and lets have a quick talk. Let me say that we are all extended family here and losing any of us is a loss to all.

Let me say that we need you and you been a good and faithful leader to this group.

David

Hey Mike!

I can't say I'm totally surprised. You've been working beyond belief here on the site and involved in so many other things.

Take from a guy who has lived a little longer, been through exactly what you've been through, coupled with a very painful divorce, some areas of failing health and some other complications, you can make it.

I'll be dropping you a note. Not to disturb you but to let you know I'm here for you.

My heart is with you my friend.

Wild Bill

Mike,

There comes a time when you must do whatever necessary to take care of yourself and your interests.

You will indeed be sorely missed by the community and I wish you all the best.

Thanks for all you did for us here...and when you're ready maybe drop us an email to let us know how you are doing. As part of the Virtual BoB...you never leave completely...you are just taking on a different assignment. Take care my friend.

Do what's best for you, of course. With the rest of life often a royal pain wargaming is where I come for fun, relaxation, and stimulation. But I get to be compulsive about things and next thing you know my "hobby" is all task driven and tme pressured...Take a break! No one deserves it more. Just remember your always a Matrix man and a RAIDER is a Raider forever!

I sent an email to him, but I would also say publicly, the site will miss ya, but you have to look out for your current needs.

I have been in the depression suffers's shoes myself, I know it won't be easy for him, but the biggest single weapon in the fight, is good supportive friends.

Mike, I know this is a difficult time for you, and that stepping down from your duties here has been a difficult choice for you to make, however, I believe it is the right choice for you. Never forget, you come first. Before your job, before your duties, before anything, you have to take care of yourself first and foremost. That being said, know also that the entire Matrix community, the SP:WAW forums especially, stands behind you, ready, willing and able to help you in any ways we can. You have my email addy, and those of others here in the forum, use them, even if it's just to say "Hi". And, as far as I'm concerned, you will always have the title of "Moderator Emeritus" here.

Life's priorities, you must take care of yourself first, over other considerations, when it comes to health.
We all know you are a major contributor to the people here, and touch a lot of lives in a positive way.
Suggest R&R and know we all understand and miss you greatly.
Sure not goodbye, but "See ya' later"...

I have always found it soo easy to do nothing. Believe that its not your fault, though no one is to blame. It just is.

Making this decision and carrying through with it shows that you are already half-way to recovery. Take your time, my friend, and when you are ready, you will do what you know you must. The rewards are there and waiting for you though it is sometimes hard to see them at first.

You are and will continue to be missed.:(
