Hello everyone, anyone know how to reverse engineer games with an assembler, dissembler, or debugger? I sure don't but I was wondering if anyone could help me change a certain fixated value of a level in a game called Knights of the Old Republic which came out several years ago. I was wondering if someone had the knowledge of modifying hard coded material in .exe's in which I could change the level cap in this particular game and make it higher. I would appreciate any feedback, thank you so much for reading and hope you post your thoughts. This game had a too low level cap in my opinion so I wanted to change it.
Some others who played this game wanted the same thing. I have no idea how I would go about doing this which is why I need help, like some one who knows how to modify hard coded material and modify things in a .exe that isn't a simple script mod or texture, model, or map mod. I need someone with programming and hex editing knowledge possibly.

I'm not a spammer, please don't delete this. I just was wondering if anyone had the knowledge of assembly programming or hex editing to modify hard code in an exe file to change a level cap in a game that's all I promise.

find a programming site, who will help, we have no idea, so stop and stay and play and talk war games to your hearts content if you wish

Thank you Zakblood, this site looks great so thanks for the welcome. Is there any real time strategy war games you recommend? Halo Wars was a pretty good game but that's the only war game I've played. Have you played Command and Conquer or Warcraft a lot?

the site is more for real war games, the starter ones are the easiest and most well known, like Panzer Corps etc, but none are maybe like the ones you have mentioned

We know those games and some of us have played them. But real-time war games that are discussed in here are Total War series, Close Combat series, and Command Ops series. Maybe some others in lesser extent. But our bread and butter are turn-based games, like Sid Meier's Civilization series and Aggressors: Ancient Rome

There were some mods that tried to increase the level cap but I'm not sure if they every really worked. I think the cap is not just one number but something more complicated, which probably rules out editing.
