Playing as the Allies against the AI I accepted the Gen Stillwell decision event and he was placed just beside Kunming.
Unfortunately there was a couple of Japanese units sitting right there to and he was immediately destroyed next turn before I had a chance to move him.
Perhaps he should be placed elsewhere if the Japanese are that close to Kunming,
