Just been looking some more at my mods, since playing my current scenario (Gothic Line 44), there's a lot of rocky terrain. And I notice they are all outlined by a red dotted line. I don't know why this should be.

I'm using a modified Telu GUI elements mod. Looking at the relevant files (*borders.png), I can tell it comes from those. But also in other mods the same line is there, both in Cabido's mod and Telu IV.

What exactly is the thinking behind this? Is there something special/buggy with this map, as it contains a lot of rocky areas? I just think it looks strange.

Example using Cabido's mod, as you can see, it's not related to occupied territory, just around rocky hexes:

The red dotted lines have no relation to rocky terrain. This must be scenario specific. Perhaps explained in the briefing.

Mmm... maybe. But I've seen no mention of it. Agreed, it's meant to be a hard scenario in terms of terrain, and has some special terrain features like flooding and impassable hills. In the example the lines go straight through a road hex, which is weird.

But, what I'm really asking is - what is the *third* line in the borders.png file used for? Because this is the one showing up, not the own/enemy territory lines.

Example:

The right-most line is the one. What is it actually meant for in the game, regardless of scenario? I've deleted it and of course got rid of the lines, but I wonder if it would cause issues with other maps and I would lose important information.

OK - so I figured it out - apparently the creator of the scenario has used the 'country border' on certain hexes, which is what the third line in borders.png is for.

I think this is to show the extent of the historic Gothic Line defenses. It doesn't show up on every rocky terrain hex as I originally thought. Even though there is not really any mention of it in the briefing. But I think there's some docs missing, as the documentation just shows the author's sources.

Yes, it has nothing to do with the terrain, it's something scenario-specific which is not well documented.
I think it has somenething to do with the many special rules detailed in the scenario briefing, but I found no mention of it .
And the attached DOC file is just a bibliography as you say.
