So do the asterisk indicate that these task forces are fast moving in this scenario also?

Yes, they all are designated as having first turn bonus movement in stock scenario 6

Dec 8 start should have all of the "Magic Moves" completed, as the game starts after the Pearl Harbor attack....GP

Thanks for your reply, I think I like that scenario start the most.

I got two totally opposite answers from veteran players.

The scenario editor for scenario 6 says that, for instance, TF ID 8003: "IJN cruisers (*)" has the First Turn Movement bonus box checked.

So the game data surely says that the move bonus applies. But what counts as "first turn" for the purposes of the bonus? That is a question for the code, not for the scenario data. A test seems in order. In game, this TF appears as an Air Combat TF located at Babeldoab. Its starting orders are to move to the sea near Legaspi. It has speed of 8/4. We will give it orders to move 30 hexes to Rabaul.

It arrived. First turn move bonus applies.

Thanks for testing.

I was about to do it myself, hope nobody felt I was cluttering the forums, I just like to interact also and not just search the forums.

They probably should indeed, but then how exactly would you do it in a scenario? Where exactly would you place each TF* on the map and how would you partially unload them at destinations?

I think with some house rules it will work fine, it should be a good scenario for people that want a historical start.
Or do you see some major issues?

No major issues if you want to do strictly historical 8 December. Just a lot of rearrangement of ships and units. But then, what about strictly historical 9 December? Maybe there are also people who want to play that? E.t.c.
There is very limited added value in historical slices that are not that different from what is already there in the game. Now, Jun-42 or Jan-43 are much more valuable scenarios.

Mostly ment that PH has happened historically and initial Malayan landings are ashore.
