Aircraft for the RAAF:

https://adbr.com.au/l3-awarded-contract-for-raaf-gulfstream-mc-55-elintsigint-aircraft/

MC-55 (Gulfstream G550 AISREW variant)

quote:

The 2016 Defence Integrated Investment Program (IIP) stated that Defence would acquire long-range electronic warfare support aircraft based on the G550 airframe with additional and modified systems from the early 2020s. The aircraft will be acquired in two tranches (2+3) and incrementally upgraded to maintain commonality with US-developed systems, and the first two ‘green’ Gulfstream G550 airframes were ordered in January 2016.

While the USAF doesn’t currently operate a similar system based on the G550, it has a requirement to replace its fleet of EC-130H Hercules ‘Compass Call’ and other systems with a large business jet airframe.

quote:

The MC-55s will replace the RAAF’s two ‘Project Peacemate’ AP-3C Orions in service from 2022/23. The new aircraft are being modified at L3’s Greenville facility in Texas.

(Project Peacemate AP-3Cs were ELINT aircraft).

For now I would have the MC-55 copy the database entry of the Israeli "Gulfstream G550 AEW Nahshon-Shavit, SEMA)-- Israel (Air Force), 2007, 3x", but without the "Special Electronic Missions Aircraft (SEMA) (Aera Surveillance)" stores.

"Electronic warfare support aircraft" (as quoted above) suggests that it's an ELINT platform primarily, but I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it adopted capabilities similar to that of a USAF Compass Call, with DECM, OECM and comms jamming later down the line (especially given the quote "The aircraft will be acquired in two tranches (2+3) and incrementally upgraded to maintain commonality with US-developed systems".

Can you add SM-2 block IIIC?
Contract has been awarded, estimated operational date is 2022.
Same missile as current SM-2 block IIIa/b but with active seeker from SM-6.

I'd like to see them work on an AESA seeker for the SM-6...

DB3000 Additions and Updates Request - 1/26/2019 6:55:19 PM
Splinter00S

I'd like to request the following (mostly hypothetical) updates to the DB3000:

-additional entries for the hypothetical F-14 entries (F-14E Quikstrike, F-14 AST21, etc.) to mirror the block updates that the Super Hornet has received (changes like extra weapon compatibility, secure datalinks, reduced RCS, AESA Radar, etc.)

-additional entries for the hypothetical F-24A Hellcat II to mirror the F-22A's improvements and block upgrades

-an entry for the F-15X now that the Pentagon might be ordering some

-a hypothetical entry for the F-15SE Stealth Eagle

-a hypothetical entry for a nuclear-powered variant of the CG-21

-a hypothetical entry for a "Super Duper" carrier, which I envision as something like the Ford class or generic large CATOBAR, but with twice the aircraft capacity, catapults, helicopter spots, and aircraft landing decks, with an increase in dimensions to match. I want to toy with the feasibility of modern systems being able to coordinate so many aircraft from one ship, but I can certainly understand why if you would not want to add this to the database.

Thank you in advance, and in addition thank you for your many years of love and support for CMANO!

Can't find a Brimstone 2 airbase magazine (0/1000) ROF:1, there are airbase magazines for Brimstone and Brimstone Dual Mode. The Brimstone 2 is an assigned loadout on Typhoons, F-35 and Tornados, but you can only arm it in the editor not from an airbase while running a scenario.

Also regarding the Tomahawk TTWCS and the associated datalinks that are currently on UK SSNs but not in CMANO:-

https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/lockheed-martin-manage-upgrade-tactical-tomahawk-weapons-control-system-us-uk/

http://www.defense-aerospace.com/articles-view/release/3/127843/lockheed-wins-%2450m-for-tactical-tomahawk-work.html

https://dod.defense.gov/News/Contracts/Contract-View/Article/1430241/
-Mentions upgrade from baseline is partly funded by RN.

https://dod.defense.gov/News/Contracts/Contract-View/Article/1430241/

UK SSN's (Astutes and Trafalgars) are consistently mentioned as having the same capabilities as US SSN's with regards to TACTOM and end to end mission monitoring / reassignment etc.

Could we get the AN/FPQ-16 PARCS & EPARCS added to DB3000? PARCS is in the CWDB already, but the radar is operated to this day in upgraded form.

Russian Su-57
#2232

According to several sources Su-57 have two side-looking AESA model N036B Byelka radars in both side. Perhaps increase angle of radars, seems little low now?

I'm surprised I missed that myself; with regards to adding them in, each of the two side-arrays should be included as a separate / independent sensor, otherwise you could have things happen where (eg) a jammer to the right of the Su-57 is incorrectly also jamming the array on the opposite side of the jet.

Each side-array should have a FOV of 120 degrees and be centred at 3'o'clock & 9'o'clock. There'll be overlap with the main array, but I've seen nothing that suggests that the arrays are tilted rearward (the RF apertures in the jet's skin (for the side arrays) would get larger in height towards the rear if that were the case).

Each side-array should also have a max range that's roughly 51.7% of whatever the max range of the front-facing array is; this is because each side array has 404 T/R modules compared to 1512 on the front-facing array, and I see no reason as to why they wouldn't utilise T/R modules of equal capability as the front array.

Also feel free to round the final max range number; there'll be some variance due to the side-arrays not being the same shape as the main array (as a horizontally-stretched hexagon they'll have a higher azimuth resolution and lower elevation resolution than a circular array of the same T/R module count - what level of azimuth and elevation resolution is required to get a weapons-grade track will depend on the jet's software and will probably vary slightly to that of the main array).

Since it looks like the USAF is buying a dozen F-15X, that would be a good addition. A Qatari version of the F-15QA would be nice too.

2 Requests, I assume this is where they should go.

1- Any chance to get a weapon record added to the db3k for RIM 156A SM2ER Block IVA with the IR backup? It is a cancelled weapon system, but is in the database already, but there is no way to actually use it as there are no weapon records involving it.

2- Any chance to add cargo capacity to the Cargo ships such as the RoRos prepositioned at Diego Garcia?

Thanks in advance!

Please keep to the topic of Russian hypo weapons.

Just kidding

The name of the thread doesn't matter, post your DB requests here and they'll be added to the list.
