I've just played "Operation Sobrania", a user scenario based upon the Beagle Channel confrontation of 1978. During a gun action between the Argentine and Chilean fleets, the General Belgrano (of Falklands fame) had it's engines destroyed by an early hit and was completely immobilized. Checking the ships's stats, I noticed that the engineering armour is given as "light" (the same as the deck armour) whereas the belt armour is "medium".

In real life, I would think that the armour an incoming round has to pass through to get to the machinery spaces is dependent upon the range and angle of the shot; in other words either belt OR deck. Does CMANO not model this, or am I misunderstanding?

P.S. The Argentinians (me) lost this battle in a big way.
