ORIGINAL: brian brian I have had a truly crazy air battle flying that exact mission in a solitaire game. Ju-52 tries to re-org land unit on Danish border. Fleet Air Arm intercepts. Luftwaffe escorts with FTR3. Whole weird battle happened at night. Lots of air combat rules to distill. I know you fine folks are playing without most Night Missions, which is wise, but I figured an air-resupply inside a major power home country could have gotten done just fine in reality (actually fresh troop/supply reinforcements/replacements would happen without the Luftwaffe at all, inside Germany, just as the war started). Some of the other aspects of what can happen in some of the rule interactions was plenty strange though. True. I think a new house rule could fix some parts of that: ITPOEMPHCC (In The Pressence Of Enemy Major Power Home Country Cities) Each city hex in a Enemy Major Power Home Country cost 2 mp for hostile air units to enter. Allies makes a strategic bombing mission against Germany, targeting Hanover with a LND3 from London. The bomber pays 1 mp for each sea hex, entering the costal hex close to Hanover cost 1mp and 1mp for clear hex next to the Hanover and finaly 2 mp for the city. I mean, it is too easy to generally do air missions in the area that the enemy most attempted to defend. During World War II, most parties concentrated on keeping their home territory hard defended. Most listening stations, radar stations, air defense guns, interceptors, air balloons, search lights, etc. Was concentrated on home territory near major cities. But MWIF does make its as easy to do a mission over Enemy Major Power Home Country cities as it is to strike any random desert hex in North Africa (That in realty almost had no air defense at all). That a CVP intercepts: a enmemy resupply mission over home country city, passing only over friendly hexes, could have happened during WWII but it very unlikely. IMHO. The thought with a house rule. Its to make mission overy Enemy Major Power Home Country Cities more difficult(like in relaity) For me, a house rule are for spicing up the game and make it more fun. Not to break any thing or make it too complicated.
