FonjoFarley and myself have started a new netplay global war, first 4 impulses, zero issues.

Tonight we have encountered a very strange situation, where having reloaded the game it is confused, with someone elses moves appearing in our game, we can see them alligning Finland (out of sequence for us) and causing US entry rolls within our game, we can then see them placing Finnish units.

I'm not sure how netplay works or what it uses a a primary key to keep games isolated correctly but is it possible we have a duplicated game number or something ?

Thanks,

Furbet

??? "someone elses moves appearing in our game,...". You mean you can both watch the counters being moved without either of your input?

That's correct !

We were in Japanese Navel Movement, the games popped up a message about allignment of Finland ! - And we could both see the screen for US entry marker and the placing of the finnish units in Finland (finland is not yet in the war in our game), as the ghost player advanced phases it seemed to advance our game phases as well.

We reloaded with the same effect (not reallignment) but German land movement occuring - will try again and see if it re-occurs.

Cheers

Oops!

There doesn't seem to be any check in the code for the Game number of the sending player matching the game number of the receiving player.

I need to add that check.

For what it is worth (not much), there is a check that the Next Entry numbers are not too small - so any moves that you do would not affect a game that is farther along.

With the renewed interest in NetPlay it may have been the first time more than one game was taking place on the server at the same time.

I realize this thread wasn't intended to be funny but when I first read Furbet's post I laughed out loud. I got the chuckles for 3 minutes. Sorry Furbet but it was funny to me.

Getting the same errors this evening, I think our game and Bitburger & 1mardiv netplay games are clashing for some reason.

Only seems to be a problem when they are trying to play at the same time.

Hope that helps with diagnostics.

We haven't played since the last time you had problems until today. So it does seem possible. I sent your opponent a couple of todays saves. We had frequent game freezing forcing restarts until your opponent messaged me, and then i am guessing you guys stopped playing, because no more freezing in our game after that.

Thanks Bitburger.

Yes we stopped playing once the conflict was obvious (the point where Fonjo contacted you) so glad it worked correctly for you once we were not online. Hopefully this addiitonal info will allow for a patch to be produced to resolve.

Regards,

Furbet
