Turn 25. Sep/Oct 1943. Allied #5.

China (1/2). Finally, the communist and Nationalist in unprecedented cooperation manage to put all of the Japanese northern armies out of supply. This is followed up by the communist elimination Terauchi's HQ-I and a mot division.

Turn 25. Sep/Oct 1943. Allied #5.

USSR (4/7). You'd think that the German player would eventually learn not to leave a HQ unstacked and within range of any enemy land units that could carry out a land combat.

Turn 25. Sep/Oct 1943. Axis #6.

Japan. China.. Supply is reestablished to the Japanese northern armies in China. The situation in all of China is still fluid and will likely require more reactions by the Japanese to maintain supply. All of these reactions had forced Japan into land actions and have forced the IJN to take a backseat when there are missions they want/need to do.

Turn 25. Sep/Oct 1943. Axis #6.

Germany. Vichy France. Though the Luftwaffe can't support the Vichy directly (i.e., they don't cooperate), they can support them indirectly by ground striking allied stacks arrayed against Vichy (as they did last axis impulse). However, this time, the Luftwaffe is unable to flip any such allied units.

Turn 25. Sep/Oct 1943. Axis #6.

Euro-Axis. The Eastern Front (1/3). Orders come down to eliminate the Zhukov redoubt at all costs. OKW planners are furious for having retreated instead of shattering these units a turn or two ago. Now, they're going to have to dig them out and it's going to be costly and take at least one more turn.

Looking at the way the rail lines run through Turkey and the advance of the Red Army back towards the Caucasus mountains, it seems to me that supply to the German forces in the Caucasus is now very precarious. I'm not sure they have time to finish the campaign there. In fact, with all the direct rail lines back to Europe already cut off, I'm not sure they'll be able to get that huge Army Group back in time for the key battles of 1944-45.

What was once a symbol of the completeness of the German victory over the USSR is now starting to look like a disaster in the making for overstretched German forces.

Yes ... this game feels a bit like will I be able to strangle my enemy before he strangles me?

How about both simultaneously?
