They fly all the way until they spend all their pil, then crash.

Didn't happen the first day if you plaid the scenario in several days, but it immediately started the second day.

If this is a bug, which is what i am inclined to believe, it's not very encouraging towards buying the pay version.
Anybody can explain this?

Per usual code monkey approach, I can't say much without more details. There were some issues with formation patrols in a series of builds. The demo 2018.011 is one of those builds. The potentially good news is that most of them are resolved in the 2019.001 build. HC is a hobby for me and I've been swamped at work so haven't made the time to put out a new build of the demo. I'll try to do that in the next couple of weeks. If you are anxious though, you can buy the game and update to the latest beta per https://harpgamer.com/harpforum/topic/29035-current-files/ . My advice though would be to wait for the updated demo, there is so much gameplay available there, then grab a copy of the full game during the holiday sale at potentially a steep discount.

Out of curiosity, what functionality of the paid version makes you want to buy a copy?

Thanks!

I was thinking it could be a problem of the Demo, I am relieved it seems to be. I am not at home at the moment, to check the build, I'll try to remember to come back later, and edit this post with the answer:

I am still wondering if the game is worth buying (for me). As any other game the most important features are in this order:

- the game works
- the game is interesting for playing
- is affordable
- comes with a sufficient number of scenarios or a random generator of them

For the first and the second item the Demo, if available, can show all
. In my case, I know it was interesting many years ago, and the basics of the game haven't changed: the icons, the information presentation, how to launch, how to ready planes, ..., there was not much to change if you want to respect the essence of the game, so ok.

But it made me furious when all my planes and helos one by one begun to fall without the usual warning of Bingo Fuel. I lost more than 20 planes, maybe 40, and many helos. I thought the game wasn't ready and the demo was a waste of time. I downloaded it recently and I believe from this website so it should have been the latest.

The price is not a problem, as you say with some of the offers, and until I play it for some time I don't know how much entertainment the existing scenarios provide.

Problem with this game is that scenarios are not very reusable, once you defeat the enemy you can always use the same strategy/tactic.

I guess I would buy it (provided it worked correctly) with the functionalities it already has. Partly because of nostalgia but for fun as well.

As for my initial message, I'll edit it to make it more comprehensible:

quote:

They fly all the way until they spend all their fuel, then crash.

Didn't happen the first real-time day if you plaid the scenario for several (game-time) days, but it immediately started the second real-time day.

If this is a bug, which is what i am inclined to believe, it's not very encouraging towards buying the pay version.

Anybody can explain this?

I have uploaded the new version of the demo to https://harpgamer.com/harpforum/topic/3446-hce-demo-available/ . You can install it right over the top of what you have now.

Thanks.

As I thought it might happen, I forgot (I had an examination yesterday so I was focused).

Thanks for your uploading the new version in spite of my forgetting to answer.
