Wishing to understand mechanics of saving any French units for the battles ahead ,after she gets stommped by German Blitz---say post 1940
or
should just throw them at the German thrust with no regards
since they will all disappear when Paris falls?

can I transport units to England? Navy , Army , Air

Can they go to Africa?

any help is appreciated

When defending France I try to stop the Axis as long as possible and give the Axis as few experience pts as possible. When troops are low strength and easy targets I disband or the troop if possible.

Yes there is some value in retreating troops (air & land not naval) to any Brit territory (including Africa). Yes you can transport the French troops to any Allied port.

I think there is a 20% probability French troops stay with Allies if in Brit territory when France falls. Retreating the French fighter to Britain right before the fall for example. Moving the Syrian French Corp to Brit territory , make sure the sea lanes are blocked so the Axis cant take Syria. The French troops aren't the greatest but it helps some.

I also immediately move the French engineer to Egypt and have them build forts there. Sometimes it stays with you which is great.

hope that helps

French Land & Air units in non French Territories (i.e. UK, Egypt, Trans-Jordan, Palestine) each have a 20% chance of becoming Free French units and a 80% chance of disbanding.
Naval units are all lost.

Note that if you make it too easy on Germany by Suiciding French forces your opponent might decide to go for All of France.
