We are back for a 4th AAR! Here is a recap of our previous matches.

Round 1: Crispy (Allies) wins September 1945 (Decisive Victory)
Round 2: BPINisBack (Axis) wins October 1944 (Allies Concede)
Round 3: BPINisBack (Allies) wins July 1945 (Decisive Victory)

Fall Weiss II is designed for a fight to the last man, with an end date of December 31, 1945. BPINisBack, a nemesis or sorts now, who holds a 2-1 edge against me in my own MOD has once again taken the reigns of the Axis. Good luck sir!

Here are the victory conditions for anyone not familiar.

So glad this is back. The AAR forum sorely needed a new AAR as well.

German High Command Report

War has begun.

Will it be a longer or shorter war? Everybody talk but nobody knows.

German army is doing a methodological killing campaing againts the Poland army. A lot of experience is being learned.

Norway convoys are under allied raiding, as usual. No German sub activity in the Atlantic Ocean.

Some diplomatic actions over Spain and Switzerland.

And just digging at the border with France.

On the other hand a lot of work in the labs and factories...

The Switzerland issue its just because this mod has a diplomacy event for this country.
If you agree with it, you will get some benefits in the future (trade).
Thanks!

More specifically, Switzerland can be an important facilitator for Germany. Pro-Axis Switzerland is necessary to establish trade with Portugal as well as Switzerland herself, and to realize additional plunder from major cities (such as Warsaw, Brussels, Paris etc.) The downside is that if Switzerland switches to be Pro-Allied, there is potential for significant disruption for Germany down the road, which is why Germany can decide whether or not to pursue this relationship.

October 1939

Poland holds out an additional turn as the bloodshed continues. The full strength Infantry Army inside Warsaw opts to counter attack forcing a German Infantry Army to retreat, taking 2 damage itself. Most other Polish units are already destroyed, Poland will not get another turn so I thought it better to take my shots where I can.

Elsewhere both sides are making strategic decisions regarding the sea, Italy has agreed to the sale of naval assets to Sweden to boost their MPP, while the British are asked to make decisions regarding shipyard capacity (Build a Battleship or Destroyers), whether to pursue the Graf Spee in the South Atlantic (we do not), whether to occupy Irish ports (we do) and are presented with a plan to amphibiously invade Norway (who knows?!?!)

Poland surrenders. The Soviets and Germany carve up the country as the first act of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.

Neither country has invested diplomatic chits in the early going, instead investing solely in research. The phoney war is in full effect in the West without a shot fired, the only raids at sea have been the British interference with Norwegian convoys to Germany.

In the East the USSR has begun its invasion of Finland.

December 1939

Sitzkrieg continues, with no action on the Western Front, other then rapid disinfection of the French Army which seems to be happening every turn. I will provide some updates on MPP allocation next update as we turn the corner on the new year.

In other news UK receives reports that Germany has opted to scrap construction of the Tirpitz Battleship, freeing up capacity to build more U-boats. Across the Atlantic the 1st Canadian Infantry Division is en route to Britain under heavily protected convoy.

2nd Axis High Command Report

Axis powers continues preparing for the unavoidable war...

Regional report

1) Germany

Germany continues improving his army and researching. No action at any frontline.

By diplomacy, Lithuania is welcome to our glorious nation. Stalin is a bit upset...

2) France

Just seeing to the French guys drinking wine and eating cheese all the day.

3) Italy and Balcans

Italians are thinking about... yes, pasta and wine, but they do their best... I think...

6) Norway, Sweden and North Atlantic

Allied raiding suppress Norway convoys. The usual.

More commercial traiding between Italy and Sweeden. This nation aligns more with axis.

8) Iberian Peninsula and Western Africa

Some diplomatics movements (both sides) force Spain and Portugal to modify its alignments (at present both are aligment with Axis, Portugal very slighty)

April 1939

All remains quiet in Europe. Axis raiders are absent, or in hiding in the Atlantic, scouting surface vessels have been unable to make contact despite scouting the convoy routes which has meant the British have received all of their convoy income unimpeded.

Diplomatically the British have been active, with 250 MPP spent thus far, and have received favorable results with both Portugal and Spain, though both are still Axis leaning. The British have also maxed out research, while also trying to make preparations in both London, France and Egypt which has severely stretched our resources. Germany on the other hand have not invested in ancillary diplomacy (chits) but have been active through events to sway current of potential trade partners in Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and Sweden.

In the East Finland has sued for peace; no Allied intervention was attempted. Sweden is a whopping 38% Axis leaning, a combination of receiving aircraft and naval assets from Italy, cancelled US aircraft orders and Finland not accepting Swedish military volunteers and resources to the Winter War with the USSR.

3RD Axis High Command Report

Germany moves over Northen France

Regional report

1) Germany

Germany ends the settings for his next objective: France. The homeland, on the other hand, is in calm.

2) France

As soon as raining ends, our forces move over BENELUX which was conquered in one single turn with very little losses in our glorious armies. On a second turn Reims was captured and a second French army was killed in the Ardennes area. We advance slowly but firmess.

Some victorius air fighting looks like the Allied commandes is trying to hold his forces the far as possible of mines.

In the Maginot line some minor fighting happened

3) Italy and Balcans

Mussollini is sleeping his "siesta". Maybe one day could wake up to join the war...

6) Norway, Sweden and North Atlantic

Allied raiding keeps supressing the Norway convoys. The usual.

Germany decided to DENIED the plans for conquering Norway neither Dennmak. Is the German High Command crazy?

8) Iberian Peninsula and Western Africa

British is bribing everyone in Spain. So the country is now slighty alingment with allies!!

4th Axis High Command Report

Paris is surrounded

Regional report

1) Germany

Despite the big offensive over France, our scientifics and workers do their best to prepare the Nation for the future wars....

2) France

In spite of having big losses at the very first weeks of war (an amoured tank and the two paratroopers) we continue advancing in a double pin so now Paris is isolated (by road) and the Frend had enormous losses (even the British leave the country as soon as they lost one single corp).

Italians could enter at war in the last week, they are figthing close to Marsella and in the Mountains.

3) Italy and Balcans

Italy declared war on the last turn... Let's see what happends... ;)

6) Norway, Sweden and North Atlantic

Allied raiding keeps supressing the Norway convoys. The usual.

8) Iberian Peninsula and Western Africa

The Allied diplomacy campaing keeps moving on so the Spaniards are now 25% alignment with them... Bastards!!!

9) Lybia and Egipt

Italians keeps at the border... Will they go into Egypt or will they wait for the Desert Rats?

November 1940

Not much action in the fall of 1940 thus far. In the Atlantic there has been no raiding activity, and mainly bombing raids and troop movement in North Africa. Italy did declare war against Greece, but the Greeks with UK support hold the Italian at the border. Germany is engaging Vichy France diplomatically. The Soviets are demanding equipment from Germany as per the Molotov Agreement, their response yet unknown.

May 1941

Atlantic
No action, NONE at all. The Kriegsmarine has not engaged in unrestricted naval warfare, or engaged in any such manner in the Atlantic at all. This was interpreted as a prelude to Sealion, and yet that has also not materialized. Perhaps because the German Paratroopers were destroyed behind the Maginot Line, or is there something more sinister at play here? Either way the British heavily prepared for an Axis invasion across the English Channel that did not materialize, which of course delayed other British objectives. However I take solace that we have received all of our convoy income.

France
Germany conquered France slowly and methodically, however the loss of two Paratrooper Divisions and a Tanks Corps was costly. The French coast is garrisoned, some Infantry Corps and Divisions are spotted along the port cities. There will be no opportunity for diversion from Germany's next objectives.

Norway
Germany called the UK's bluff on a 1940 invasion of Norway. Norway is edging closer and closer to the Axis as a result of our persistent raiding activity, it's easy to lose track and I don't even remember where we are at currently.

Yugoslavia
Another slow and methodical invasion into Yugoslavia, I suspect the country's surrender to be highly coincidental to another major invasion with German forces in high spirit. The Axis Balkan countries and some straggling forces of Italy and Germany have been tasked with destroying the Yugoslavian forces, no German Armour or Luftwaffe are present.

Vichy France
A diplomatic target of Germany right now, they are 70+% Axis leaning, and will be a valuable source of income soon.

Greece
The Greeks firmly hold their borders. The enemy does not have forces in Albania or Bulgaria yet up to the task of penetrating our defensive lines.

North Africa
Tobruk is besieged from all sides, with Italian forces retreating towards Benghazi. I think the German's have opted against deploying the DAK as well. At a cost of 850 MPP for half strength units, it is definitely an option not to, however the Italians are not putting up a good fight without. I should have advanced earlier, but as I said Sealion was expected, and the British forces were slow to mobilize in Egypt.

USSR
Are the Soviets prepared as the German's line the border? Of course not. Will we have time to prepare? Let's wait and see. German Tanks and Armies are continuously showing up along the border. Stalin is starting to wake up, we are 41% convinced an attack is imminent. This could be a massive invasion force, given Greece, North Africa and the Atlantic have all been ignored.

6th Axis High Command Report

Barbarrossa begins

Regional report

1) Germany

Our main activity in our loved homeland was to build new armies and refitting the older ones.

2) France

After some rounds of negotiations Vichy is 76% "pro-axis".

3) Italy and Balcans

Our forces in the Greece border are still waiting for reinforcements.

Yugoslavia was conquered by Italy, that's quite new! :)

Switzerland received some allied diplomatics. Now it's 20% pro-axis.

4) Russia

On July, 4th (53% pro-allied) Germany DOWN on Russia.

18 soviet units (close to 2.700MPP) were destroyed in the first turn.

The most remarkable facts were some commando and paratroops landinds. Narva is captured, Riga and Tallin is surrounded and will be captured very soon. Three armoured corps and some auxiliary forces (infantry + mechanised and armoured divisions) seems to look for Leningrad meanwhile other "minor" forces secured the east border of Poland.

At the east of Romania a very similar force assault the border. Thanks to strategic bombing it seems that Soviets wont' be able to reinforce the frontline at the west of Kiev - Odessa line...

Around 5 - 7 soviet units are isolated in this first turn in three pockets.

OKW decided to launch a kind of "early" attack on Russia in order to get advantage of the summer... Let's see...

5) Finland

OKW expects that Finland join axis very soon!

6) Norway, Sweden and North Atlantic

Allied raiding keeps supressing the Norway convoys.

7) USA

It's 35% pro-allied.

8) Iberian Peninsula and Western Africa

Spain is 19% pro-allied.

9) Lybia and Egipt

British advance (at last!) over Cyrenaica. Italians could do nothing at all.

AHHH! I usually garrison Narva for this exact reason but found myself pretty stretched this time around and left it open, that is a significant choke point, not good news for Leningrad!

Fortunately i could take the city...
If not, i would have landed at his right in order to cut the road... at least for a while...
Unfortunately for me you put some strong units in Riga, so i could not overrun the city in the first turn... but just a small delay...

7th Axis High Command Report

Soviet army exhausted

Regional report

1) Germany

Despite having build new units. Research and Diplomacy were our task during the last weeks.

2) France

After some rounds of negotiations Vichy is 83% "pro-axis". Soooooo slowly!!

3) Italy and Balcans

Romanian forces support Italian ones in order to enter in Greece.

Also, Lutfwaffe send two figthers and one medium bomber to help a little.

On the other hand, British land and send many bombers at the north of the Greece border.

No big changes but in our last turn we could destoy two greeks units and take the Greece port at the north.

4) Russia

After two months since the beginning of the war the soviet army is exhausted.

During the last three turn it can raise over 50 units at the beginning of its turn (usually Wermatch kills from 5 - to 8 units).

Kiev and Dnepropetosk are in German hands, meanwhile a hugue force head over Leningrad. The first line of resitence are under heavy attack.

In the center of the line, an Army Groups fights at the east of Smolenks in order to build a "logical" frontline.

5) Finland

Finland is harassing the north of Leningrad, meanwhile a small infantry group is taking some small villages at the nort east of the city, cutting the railway in that area.

Petsamo is under besiege, but i will resist for a while.

6) Norway, Sweden and North Atlantic

Allied stops raiding Norway when the country was 70% pro axis.

7) USA

It's 53% pro-allied. I don't know how long they will wait for war...

8) Iberian Peninsula and Western Africa

Spain is 40% pro-allied!!!

9) Lybia and Egipt

Only Tripoli holds to the Desert Rats. Maybe in two turns the city will fall...
