I haven't played this for a while. I have a new PC (win 10, Ryzen 5 2600, 16gb RAM with a Radeon RX580 8gb graphics card) so thought I'd reinstall SoW. Version 1 played ok. I then applied the 1.3 update (downloaded from your site) and the Direct X install from Microsoft. Loading screens are fine but on any option, just as it finishes placing the shrubbery, it ctds. I have followed the advice given in this forum to others with this sort of problem, to no avail.

Just got a new Win10 computer and experienced the same results. Somehow the Grog Toolbar fixes the crashes. I'll get this issue written up on the SOW forum and hope for some answers.

Thanks Reb, I went into Mods and selected version VII (left the others blank) and it runs just fine.

Thanks for posting this. I headed here after having the exact same problem on a new PC/install, and it has resolved the issue.
