That's all I'm saying.

I feel guilty for even mentioning it.

Did you buy anything? I bought Heroes of Might & Magic series for some ~10 € year and half (I think) ago and have played only a bit of HOMM2.

Might have made an impulse buy of Gary's Torch expansion, but you have to buy the base game too from Gog. Already have it.

Might have gotten a couple pf CC titles, but RT isn't really my mode.

Some really good deals on RPG’s over there, both new and old. All the “Enhanced” versions of classics like Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, etc. are $5 a pop and Dragon Age Origins also. I’m eyeing Pathfinder: Kingmaker, heard lots of good things about it.

Can someone explain to me this Gog "Galaxy" business? The last two games I bought it functioned like the worst intrusive DRM on my Win10 OS. I've uninstalled it and cannot buy from GoG again based on my experience.

The GOG Galaxy app is like the Steam app, but apparently not as advanced. Hopefully GOG will improve it.

If you don't wish to use GOG Galaxy you can download the 'offline backup game installers' from your GOG account under each game and install them as normal.

I bought Combat Mission Afrika Korps, Combat Mission Barbarossa to Berlin and Close Combat 3 The Russian Front. I have them all on disc but I'd rather have the digital downloads that are optimised for modern computers. If you buy one of the Close Combat games you also get the first Close Combat game for free.

Thanks for all the comments. I have several Good Old Games and can now re-install using the offline backup game installers. Cool, and thanks!

Your welcome!

Just for the record for anyone, the GOG Galaxy basically serves as a buddy list/chat, AND so your GOG games get auto updated. It also works for MP with you friends list.

Without Galaxy, you have to manualy update your games when/if a update is released.

As someone pointed out at the top of the thread, it's like Steam but not as good.

Can´t say till I see it. So far no idea how it´s going to work out, and some of us do need Steam if we want to play our Steam games, so will see....

One HUB for all stores is not a bad Idea, it all depends how it´s implemented.

Just my opinion.

Since we are into the last hours of the GOG summer sale, one must finally decide!

So, as a fan of CRPG (old school) and the recent sale having three of the mayor heavy weights (Pathfinder, Pillars II and Divinity Original Sin 2) on sale and BTW at a great price, one must pick which one he will sink all those hours into.

On one hand, I was a bit skeptical about Pathfinder, main reason was bugs, and that I have never played Pathfinder (board/card) game, so not to familiar with the rules. But the video below has me in doubt now...

Thoughts welcomed!

I picked up War in the East, and the 2 expansions as well as War in the West and it's expansion at GOG for less than the price of one weeks worth of MMJ.

Total cost was $81 Cdn. And, having picked up TOAW IV during the D-day sale here - well it will keep boredome at bay for a while.

I really want to print out the WitE and WitW maps very large and use them as wall posters.

I'll say it again; retirement, even if forced by medical issues is very good.

I have played a number of games from Steam without the software. For some games/mods, it's even requirement.

Make a visit to print/copy service. Those can serve you at least A3 size paper (or its American equivalent), and maybe even bigger ones.

Since the sale is worth it, I went for Grim Dawn and Divinity Original Sin 2 as well.

Plenty of CRPG and ARPG for this summer vacation

BTW, Grim Dawn can be played offline which is one of the reason I bought it.
