I developed a house scenario for Day of Infamy (using only the Asia/Pacific part of the map), and it worked quite well. The rules require obviously some manually actions, but it is pretty close to the original design. I hope you will enjoy.

House Rules for Day of Infamy on MWIF

1. Use the existing Waking Giant Scenario from MWIF.

2. For optional rules such as Oil and Cruiser in Flames, see scenario booklet (pdf doc), they can be accommodated easily.

a) US setup
East Coast: CV ~ Wasp, Yorktown; BB ~ Idaho, New Mexico, North Carolina,
Mississippi, Washington; CA ~ Wichita.
Anything else on the East Coast is set to sentry for the rest of the game.

Pacific or USA: All ships, 1 GAR, 2 FTR, 1 NAV, 1 LND, 2 TRS, 3 SUB, 15 CP, 1 MAR Div.
Anything else in the USA is set to sentry for the rest of the game.

Construction Pool:
• All available for the Pacific.

Reinforcement:
• All available for the Pacific.

Production:
• Resources set to idle, to have only 20 factories working (no lending possible).
• 1 time per game production bonus (turn on resources for 1 turn to get 10 extra build points).

b) CW setup
Transfer Pool (place in Port Said and move manually to Aden at first Naval impulse, then turn all to sentry):
CV Illustrious, Indomitable, Victorious; CVL Eagle [all with CVP]; BB King George V, Queen Elizabeth, Resolution, Revenge, Warspite, Duke of York, Malaya, Ramilies, Renown, Valiant; CA Kent, London, Birmingham, Devonshire, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Shropshire, Suffolk, 2 SUB, 2 TRS, 5CP.

• Access to Transfer Pool in Jan/Feb of:
• 1942 = 0.3; 1943 = 1.2; 1944 = 2.0; 1945 = 0.8
• Multiply on Asia/Pacific map naval value by factor as above; subtract Transfer pool build point value from multiplied number; divide in two; number of naval units that can be access from Transfer pool in build points terms. If difference is negative, same but units in build points value must be returned to Transfer Pool.
• Ex: in Jan/Feb 1942: 54 bp x 0.3 = 16; 74 bp – 16 = 58 bp; 58 ÷ 2 = 29 bp; CW could taken 29 build points value of ships from transfer pool.
• Unit taken from Transfer pool can sail directly to theater from Aden.

India: CVL Hermes; BB Royal Sovereign; CA Cornwall, Dorsetshire, Exeter, Glasgow, Hawkins, 1 TRS, 30 CP; + land and air units as per MWIF setup.

Malaya/Singapore: BB Prince of Wales, Repulse; + land unit as per MWIF setup.

Australia: CA Australia, Canberra; + land unit as per MWIF setup.

Rest of setup in Asia/Pacific map as per MWIF (including NEI, South Africa, Ethiopia).

All other CW units set to sentry for the rest of the game, except 2 TRS in UK (to bring UK built units to Aden), and Australian MOT (put in Port Said and transport with rest of Transfer Pool fleet to Aden – becomes available in Jan/Feb 1942). The TRS are to be used to shuttle new build units from UK to Aden.

Repair Pool:
• All available, but placed in UK, to be moved to Transfer Pool in Aden.

Construction Pool:
• All available, but placed in UK, to be moved to Transfer Pool in Aden.

Reinforcement:
Jan/Feb: 1 FTR, 1 LND3, [2 pilots] (to be manually transported to Aden from UK);
CV ~ Formidable, CA Frobisher; 2 CP (to be manually transported to Transfer Pool in Aden).
CA Gambia to appear in NZL.

Mar/Apr: 1 Aust. MOT (from Aden); 3 CP (to be manually transported to Transfer Pool in Aden).

May/Jun: BB Anson; CA Jamaica; 1 CP (to be manually transported to Transfer Pool in Aden).

Jul/Aug: BB Howe; CA Bermuda (to be manually transported to Transfer Pool in Aden).

All other already scheduled reinforcements to be placed in UK or Canada, and set to sentry.

• All future built land and air units appear in UK, and are to be manually transported to Aden (except IND, AUS, NZL units)
• All future built and completed naval units appear in UK, and are to be manually transferred to Transfer Pool in Aden (except AUS, NZL ships).

If a Canadian unit is built because of randomization, CW players leaves it sentry in Canada, and receives next turn a “refund” in build points equivalent to the Canadian unit build points value by turning on the appropriate amount of resources on European map.

Use build points to get 2 more TRS for the UK-Aden "shuttle", above and beyond allowed build points early in the game.

Production:
• Proper CP setup for CW required on both maps, to create build points flexibility in turning on and off resources, as required.
• All resources turn to idle on European Map, except for every resource from Asia/Pacific map reaching by CP Arabian Sea and/or Mozambique channel; manually turn on 1 resource on European map to produce a build point for each. It is to be done at the Production phase, every turn. It is in above of the 3 build points that CW gets from Australia and India.
• 1 time per game production bonus (turn on resources for 1 turn to get 5 extra build points)

c) USSR setup
As per MWIF, make sure to meet requirements with German lines, turn all units on European map to sentry, except units for Reinforcement (see below).

Reinforcement (only if Japan at war with USSR):
1941: 2 INF, 1 CAV, 1 FTR
1942: add 1 MOT, 1 MECH, 1 LND
1943: add 3 INF, 1 ARM
These units are to be placed on European map cities at setup. For the ARM, use one arriving as reinforcement in Europe in either Mar/Apr or May/June 1942. Railroad/Air rebase them gradually to either Chita, Ulan-Ude, Irkutsk, Bratok, or Komsomolsk, and turn them to sentry. Use full railroad capacity until they are moved to those Siberian cities. Activate as per reinforcement schedule when at war with Japan.
If not at war with Japan, these reinforcements are activated in Jan/Feb 1945.

Production:
• Once at war with Japan, turn resources equal to the number of factories from the Siberian western border up to Vladivostok, (12 factories).
• All resources turn off (no production) until at war with Japan, except to produce these reinforcements:

• Jan/Feb 1943: 1 CA from Construction Pool (2 bp)
• May/Jun 1943: 1 CA from Construction Pool (2 bp)
• Apr/May 1944: 1 pilot (2 bp)
• May/Jun 1944: 1 ARM, 1 ATR, 1 pilot (11 bp)
• Jul/Aug 1944: 1 ARM, 1 MECH, 1 PARA, 1 LND(3), 1 LND(2), 2 pilots (28 bp)
• Sep/Oct 1944: 1 MECH div, 1 CAV, 1 MOT, 2 LND(2), 1 FTR(2), 3 pilots (21 bp)
• Nov/Dec 1944: 2 INF, 2 FTR(2) (10 bp)
• Jan/Feb 1945: Railroad Zhukov A-HQ to Asia/Pacific theater

For reinforcements arriving before Mar/Apr 1945, place in cities not to affect pact ratio. If playing with pilots, planes can be held in waiting until Mar/1945.

War with Japan:
• Japan can declare war to USSR, as per MWIF pact system.
• USSR can only declare war to Japan on or after Jan/Feb 1945, and only if it meets MWIF pact system.

d) Chinese Nationalists and Communists, and Japan as per MWIF setup.

e) Germany, Italy, Vichy France, Free France set as per MWIF. Make sure to meet requirements for Germany to Soviet lines. Place all units to sentry, and place air units as far as possible from enemy units (to avoid unnecessary phases).
• Germany and Italy declare war to USA and China the impulse after Japan declares war to the USA.

Action
• Number of actions available per impulse is half (rounded up) for US, CW, and USSR (when at war with Japan, except for railroad points to place Reinforcements in Siberian cities until completed).

• Germany, Italy and Free France Pass every impulse.

• If Japan needs to avoid extra 10% to end turn for being sole active power, set Italy to Naval (less phases involved).

• Partisan in Europe and Persia, if appearing, place on a non-resource hex, and set to sentry. If USSR at war with Japan, activate partisans in Persia and Soviet unit in Persia as well, and if Italian or German owned partisans, allow land impulse for partisans in Persia.

Victory
• If the Allies announce their special build point bonus, they must control all objectives to win the game.

Did you, eouellet, or somebody else ever try this approach? Did it work?

Hi, yes I did try it and it works well. The Soviet part needs a bit more careful handling because of pact ratio. Inspite of the pact, by late 1944, you should start to move Soviet units closer to where they should pop up in the normal scenario, if not already at war with Japan.
