The game is currently in Beta testing, so I'd say not too far down the road.

I myself can't answere as I am not a Matrix Games staff member. I could be way off on this, but I would not expect a release any time before sept. EiA is a very complex game, and there are more issues to be solved than one would first expect.

While coding something into computer form may make play easier/quicker, there are just some times where even the simplest of rules can cross over into other (grey areas) and cause big trouble in software despite a human can grasp the solutions/concepts instantly.

I will assume this is one of the problems MG has to deal with, as a coder myself I would bet on it.

.........I'd be willing to bet that Matrix Games has some general idea about how much longer it might take.

Hey, I'm not looking for anything written in stone or anything that Matrix Games can be held to.

Just an honest opinion would be cool.

At the very least, it ought to be getting pretty close to pre-order time. Right?

I two would rather see the game be pushed back a few months and have it done write than released now and have it be half ***.

LOL. I also don’t want to experience another ‘Iron Blitz’ trauma myself. It seems a few communities have correctly changed the title to ‘Iron ****z’.

I would rather wait 2 years for EiA to come out, than be stuck with a rushed job of headaches with no work arounds.

Hey guys:

LOL!!!!!
As a coder and aspirin adict with Matrix, I can tell you that we will release no game before its time! This is a very VERY tough undertaking and I myself could have written 3 or 4 pieces of industrial control software projects in this same time span that it has taken us to get to beta BUT the rewards will be GREATER for all with EIA on the PC!

My goals are:

To allow one guy to play EIA!
To streamline PBEM play. (I've seen and played the Cyberbox stuff and it is cool BUT most PBEM games spend 60-65% of their time fighting over rules interpretations). What we need for PBEM is consistency in rules!
I figure if we can get these items done then we have done a good thing for the gaming community!

Anyway, now you know my aspirations!

My Aspirinations!

I've done a little wargaming in the past (3R, SQD LDR, VIP, Magic Realm, etc) but EIA takes the prize for me in complexity! I'm currently addicted / obsessed with it. Hopefully my marriage will outlast this project!

:D My soon to be wife knows what she is getting and thinks of wargames as 'toys for boys'.
But she's happy that I'm spending my time wargaming instead of spending my time drinking beer and watching football in a lousy tavern.

What? You don’t drink beer when you play your games? That’s horrible!

Ok just teasing. I turn into a coke addict (cola only) when I sit down for those 8 hour tcp/ip games. This costs me a fortune at the dentist, so I may just find it cheaper to switch to alcohol. What do you guys think?

The test team are stuck into testing this game. It will be released when its a finished product. At this point in time Summer is still the release time frame.
