British tanker seized by Iran

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-49053383

that was an obvious move, I can't understand how they went in without some form of escort

Because they wanted the piracy? Escort would have prevented seizure, thus it's pretty safe to say they wanted their ship grabbed so they could bomb the crap out of Iran.

The MIC's moves are always designed to give the impression that they are the victim.

The boomers are at it again. Bad news bro, all the young and hip wannabee 'defense analysts' were cawing the same thing back when the first tanker was attacked. The "lol I can see what's really going on" train left long ago. How do they even get away with this when so many keyboard commandos are loudly declaring that they know a plot when they see it?
And if the BRITISH government thinks letting some tankers get seized as a pretense for war is a good way to distract from the issues Zombie May's government presides over at home they'll soon be disappointed. Crazy Corbyn isn't going to miss the opportunity it'll provide, I'm sure.

Obviously these IRG speedboats seem way more efficient at their jobs than any PT-boat you might get in AE. I request some fixin'!

I saw a retired US Admiral talk about patrolling the strait. The coast of Iran along the strait extends for 1000 miles and there are hundreds of tankers (and presumably some cargo ships) plying the waters. Western nations have groups of patrolling vessels here and there but nowhere near enough to cover the whole distance or provide individual escort to the ships of their own nations.

Canada participates in this force but most of our participation is aimed at arms smuggling, especially ships from North Korea which have been identified as probable violators. Between Iran and all the non-state groups fighting over Iraq and Syria the arms trade is very lucrative in the region so lots of dealers will try to break embargos. Often, they succeed ...
