Hi all, recently I decided to expand my knowledge in historical affairs by looking at Europe’s modern history. The time-span I would like to cover is, roughly, from XVI to late XVIII Century (AKA from Renaissance to Napoleon (excluded) - AKA The Europa Universalis timespan). I’m looking for a book which covers events like (randomly) the Seven Years War, the Thirty Years War,, the various peace treaties (shameful example: I’m clueless about what the Peace of Westphalia was about)... The whole lot. Length is not a problem, as long as it is a good overview. I plan to follow up with more specific books about the events which particularly interested me, but right now I’m looking for a “general map” of European history after the Middle Ages. Suggestions?
