After France capitulates in 1940 and the French Special Forces unit in the Great Britain/Narvik joins the UK, it can be upgraded with infantry weapons, mobility and possibly anti-air defense capabilities . . . unfortunately, these upgrades completely disappear once France is liberated. Anybody know if this is a bug or design feature?

The whole situation with French overseas territories is strange. The Free French basically become based in Tahiti (bizarre). Some former French territories join the UK production section. It really could use a rework. Either put everything under the UK (easiest option) or actually make the Free French and the French the same faction?

I prefer the later so that the French can research something and enjoy the catch up bonus of the other allies.

Is this new? I just noticed this for the first time where the Fr SF unit becomes British. Nice bonus to get a free SF unit - makes the expedition to Finland event a no brainer.

ThunderLizard2: This is a carry over from War In Europe. The French Special Forces unit sometimes just disappears when France surrenders, sometimes it joins the British and the counter changes to British colors, no less --- the developers can offer a better idea as to what the odds are. Nonetheless, if it hasn't been destroyed by the time France is liberated, it changes back to French blue and French control, but loses any upgrades that might have been applied while under British auspices.

Gamey tactic : just before France surrenders, try moving all the French units you can into british-controlled territories, there's a good chance that a few of them will join the brits.
