Has anyone the same impression?

Playing through the Tunisia campaign I did not play a single last map of any of the operations (Gumtree Road, Tine Valley, Sbiba Counterattack). Is this normal or bound to decisive victories on the maps before or is there something wrong with that part of the game?

On the Debrief screen after the last battle it should say why the operation ended. An operation can end without taking all the maps if one side or the other is completely destroyed or time expires.

Time can also expire on the Planning Screen depending on the attacker's time choice. If you are the attacker the choice will say 'End Operation.' If you're the Defender the AI will only choose this if it's in a situation where the available attack options are terrible -- i.e. if its only choice is Hasty Attack and its force is too weak to accomplish anything. If time expires from Planning you'll go straight to Debrief without a battle.
