I hate it.
It used to be game information was easy to find, now it seems we are becoming Steam clones. My beloved AGEOD is now gone as a web interface except the forum. I am not sure what is wrong with owning a game outright rather than merely renting it through the Steam interface. I do hope both Matrix and Slitherine continue to allow independent downloads. But their new 'face' seems to imply this might no longer be true.
I am slowly adjusting to chat on these other forums, but very disappointed I could not answer a very simple question about which scenarios are included in Pride of Nations. This is a very unfortunate change in information about games available. What is the gain for players and for companies?

Ironically, Steam too just changed its interface - and the new one is dire.

like everything new, it takes time to get used to it, can't say i'm a fan, then again like i've said, it's new, see what you think in a year or 6 months time, if it's still like it is, which more than likely it won't be and changed again

I give up! Not only do I hate this new look, I go to the store front for a specific title and can't even see how I'm supposed to purchase it. Why is there no obvious 'add to shopping basket'? It should be intuitive. It should be easy for the customer. Instead, it's just a mess. I shouldn't have to go hunting for help to do this and I don't intend to. I'm a customer, not a damned treasure hunter so now I'm off to spend my money elsewhere.

But it's intuitive. Just click in the price tag. Maybe it's me, I'm just too old and get used quite easily to these changes.

Obviously my intuition is different to yours. It seemed to me that clicking on the picture of the game would take me to where I wanted to go. It never occurred to me that clicking on the price tag would give me a different result. Doesn't matter anyway. I've spent ages trying to work this out and I'm too angry/frustrated to care anymore so I think I'm done here.

I recently purchased my first game since the change in interface. It was a bit confusing but I got through it.

However I don't think the "product page" (using the old term) is near as helpful in getting a good description and display of the games. Just an opinion I will keep working with it and buying the Matrix games I want.

You DO NOT own any digital game you pay for. Nor, as far as I can recall, do you own any game you bought on a disk. You are merely leasing it and it spells that out clearly in the ULA which is typically at the end of the manual or in a separate document. Doesn't matter where you got it, you don't own it.

Their new interface is indeed abysmal. I have no idea what they were thinking.

'Intuitively' knowing to click on a price tag to get something purchased is not, in itself, intuitive. Clicking on an item to purchase it is. When I shop at the store I do not put the price tag in the basket. I put the item in the basket. That is intuitive. Eventually people will get it sorted out.

If the issue is just about adding items to the cart we can look at adding some kind of icon if people are finding it confusing. It didn't come up in the beta testing.

The product pages have changed to move the visual content to the top as this is what people making initial buying decisions on. The details are further down and the thinking is, if you get interested enough by the visuals you'll scroll down to find the info but not vice versa. We're happy to listen to feedback on what needs to be shown where but the basic approach of visuals first is well established and proven so its unlikely we;d change that kind of thing.

How many people read ULAs? I only tried to do it once, many years ago, and gave up right at the start when I discovered that I was already deemed to have agreed to the terms and conditions by virtue of having opened the shrink wrapping around the box.

I guess that there are a lot of software companies out there who own the rights to my immortal soul.

Personally, I have no problem with the new Matrix look. As an improvement, may be just a link to my anniversary coupons from my account. Can't find it.
