I started a game as Axis, on historical.

I took Poland in two turns, Denmark and Norway in one turn each, France in 7 turns, Yugoslavia in one turn.

I invaded the USSR at the end of May, 1941.

My progress there has been fairly historical - by late November my line was: outside Leningrad, Novgorod, outside Rhzev, outside Velikie Luki, outside Kalinin, outside Moscow, Tula, outside Kursk, outside Kharkhov, outside Dnepropetrovsk.
Up to the Feb 13, 1942 turn, I have taken Kharkhov, Dnepropetrovsk and Rostov, with considerable losses.
My oil is down to 372, so I have been trying to conserve it for the summer 1942 offensive.

The Axis have advanced in Egypt up to El Alamein twice, but have had to pull back due to supply issues.

Great game so far.

I am in a PBEM 1939 campaign as Allies and enjoying it immensely...we are both learning a lot but having a good time.

Current game time is Jan 1941...stalemate in North Africa...I think we both have too much stuff and too little supply in that theatre.

Second game as Axis. Quit the first one because I didn't understand the sub rules and lost all my subs. In second game its mid July '41. I've taken Poland (one turn), Denmark, Norway, Low Countries, France, Yugoslavia, Greece, Egypt. Recaptured Iraq from Brits and took an oil field in Iran, hoping to get a huge boost to my much needed oil.

I'm making good progress towards Leningrad and Moscow, hoping weather will hold.
I've had some epic naval wins including the Bismark wiping out most of the Soviet navy and some bitter disasters including a very unwise attack on a British CV group by an Italian surface fleet. That did not go well!

As far as gameplay, this is the best grand strategy WWII game I've ever played. I pretty much like everything about the game system but in particular the air and naval models are far better than anything I've played before. Also, I think the supply trucks are one of the best innovations I've seen and the support units across the board.

Also really impressed by the responsiveness of the dev and hope many more versions of this come out (Pac War, Full War, WWI version? Just throwing those out, lol.)

Game is enjoyable but I feel right now there is a huge workload that needs to be done for balancing and about some game mechanics that are quite wonky. (Among them Strategic Bombing and Partisans.)

Game is amazing even with all the bugs and lack of polish. It will only get better with time and the support is there to do it.

A must buy.

And it's gotten me back into PBEM, which I had not done for years.

That's why I bought the game, looks like it will be patched and worked on.

No single nations on the table. It is on the list of considerations.

Yes they are the publisher so I'll allow them to handle sales and marketing for me so I can concentrate on coding and improving the game for the players. Marketing is very time consuming.

I remember The Operational Art of War IV, the Slitherine/Matrix Store was first the only place to get it.
After a year it was released at Steam either.

I already added the game as a none Steam game in my Steam library, so it's all fine for me.

There is one advantage with Steam, it is easier to add Scenarios and Mods.
And, of course, you have more customers.
I think it will be released at Steam in one or two years. ;-)
