The message log.

I like the principle of grouping the messages into categories, but actually it makes it much harder work to find the message you think you missed.
But more than that, it's the fact you now need to 'open' each message with a tiny click box to view the whole detailed version. This is a downgrade and slows information collection by the player. I would want to see the expanded message without clicking. Or have an option to show expanded versions as default.

Also it needs a transparent background.

Loving the Stamen terrain. Makes overlays almost unnecessary.

Hi,

We had some other guys in the beta who actually preferred the old raw-text log (as they say, you only miss the old boss when the new boss shows up

), so we added the ability to switch back and forth between the interactive and raw-text modes.

Just detach the message log to its own window (Shift+Ctrl+M) and you should see a "Switch to raw text view" button on its top right corner.

I suspect this may not be obvious to many players since the log starts in docked mode, so I added a ticket to include this button also in docked mode.

Yeah, I found that. The other issue with I have with the new format is that, at least for me, if I moused over something in the message log, even in another window, it would splash the contents on the main screen...

Raw text doesn't do that, thankfully.

There are numerous setting in game options for when bubbles come up. Those can be adjusted.
