and here's the real action... we spotted a convoy NW of Port Blair and I wasn't sure what it really was... this turn we spot three task forces including several British carriers and BBs... first message was as usual as 35 Betties failed to find the target... GRRRRRRRRRRRR...  21 Betties with literally all of my available escorts find the quite huge armada and attack several ships in light rain... we outnumbered the CAP but still a couple of fighters engaged the bombers downing five of them so I didn't expect a lot and it was a total surprise to see four Betties attacking Ramillies and ALL of them hitting the BB!!! BANZAI!!! the rest of the bombers all missed, pretty much as expected... 35 more Betties could have been quite funny...
so this is quite a big operation to either reinforce or evacuate Port Blair I guess and... I'd bet it's evacuation time as Port Blair didn't do him any good, it's the British equivalent to Rabaul so far... two RN CVs were spotted but there must be a third one when I look at the enemy fighters on CAP but that CAP isn't really competitive actually... should be interesting turns to come and the start was quite good already as I don't expect Ramillies to survive four torps...

if it would just be possible to fly decent strikes from land bases against enemy ships... while we have a good number of fighters on escort again the strike coming in during the afternoon phase is not even a third of the available bombers... clear sky would mean perfect attack weather and CAP was already worn down during the morning as the Brits can only field 17 fighters for CAP supported by the AVG that seems to be flying LRCAP from Port Blair... was expecting some damage that would hurt the enemy but most of the 26 bombers doing their attack run attacked empty TRANSPORTS...  wow, what a failed target aquisition... guess that these attacks raise Ed's blood pressure but that's about it...

a second wave is coming in, CAP can't do anything anymore... 8 bombers decided to attack that xAKL which is just ridicoulos, only three groups of 3 and 4 bombers attacked the carriers, all missing... we have a bomber Sentai with 45 Betties that couldn't find the enemy in the morning and they didn't even try in the afternoon... without that perfect attack on Ramillies it would have been just horrible but seeing such an attack is just pure luck and probably won't happen again... I wonder if these attacks today will make Ed retreating but I guess he will press on as he did in the past so we might get another chance to score some hits... his British CV can't cover his convoys vs my air attacks at all, they just don't carry enough fighters and the ones on the ships at this stage of the war aren't really competitive even against Zeroes... will be interesting what happens tomorrow...

to be honest, I'm absolutely happy about China so far and at the moment I have no doubt to achieve all goals that were set at the start of the war... 
these are the units that were moving out of Singapore, having no supply at all they can't achieve anything but moving around and being blocked by some low value IJ units... each turn some of those Allied troops die... 
same as with Port Moresby and Rabaul, as soon as we don't have anything else to do we are going to invade, date hasn't been set yet...
