Hi,

I've been working on the Australian, PLA, and Egyptian armies. The Australian (complete) and the Egyptian (just about) are the most developed, with the PLA I've thrown together yesterday and today. Included in the .zip in the following post are all 3 factions and a short scenario battle. Let me know what you think.

Damn this is extremely impressive, especially all the sprite work. Hell of a good job man, these factions are going to be a ton of fun to play!

Are you going to upload it to the Steam Workshop also? I guarantee there'd be a ton of interest in it there.

Great work! May I ask what ammunition did you used for PLA and what is the time frame of your mode?

How hard would it be to put all the factions, official and unofficial in one database? I see someone was kind enough to do a Canadian force list, but you would have to add the forces to another one to have someone to fight against.....right.

As long as the different modders used different blocks of IDs for units, weapons, ammo, and formations, it should be relatively simple to copy and paste them together using something like Notepad++.

A brief glance at this one and the Canada one looks like there aren't really any conflicts.

Thanks a lot! It's taken a heap of work so far. I've just uploaded it to Steam workshop, thanks for the tip!

For the PLA I mostly used the existing ammunition, but made some custom ones for a few units. The time frame is the same as the base game, 65 - 91. Australia has basically everything available in that time period; Egypt has a large portion and the PLA have enough for a feasible force, including all their AFVs. They need quite a few more units, artillery, AA etc, to be fully fleshed out though.

I'd be keen to amalgamate my factions into a larger mod if it were to go ahead.

Do people have your permission to incorporate your work into their mods? With all due credit of course.

I'd love to include your PLA/Australia factions in what I've been working on.

Would this sprite be any good for your Aus mod? It's not the correct variant, but it is a Canberra. I lifted it off a plan view I found, and slapped some kangaroos on it. I thought maybe you could fix it up and use it for something. I have no talent for that sort of thing.

Go for gold, no worries.

Thanks man, I'll take a look and see if I can put it into the game.

Awesome! Thanks man! I've been working on new factions/fleshing out existing ones from 1950 to 1995 and China/Australia would fit in nicely with the Japan faction I've been working on if I extend them a bit to the new timeline(already finished Israel and Egypt).

Latest update will be on Steam soon. File is quite a bit too big to upload here.

PLA revamped, way more units. Israel added, well fleshed out. AU modified a tiny bit and EG substantially improved.

Hi Karl,
This looks very impressive. Im working on a mod to put Iraq in the game, is it possible I could use some of your sprites for that effort please? Think the T54 and the Type 63 would save a lot of time.

Ditto the Canberra Hub6, any objections if I put that in with RAF markings?

New databases and the associated graphics go to data\database in the game folder.

I have no steam. Is there mayby a other solution for non-steam users?

Will you consider adding more factions in time?

Hi, unsure at the moment. This was a preliminary mod which eventually became my main 'Factions Plus' mod, which I've just now updated. You'll find it on the main mods and scenarios page of the forum
