In CMANO you could quickly select a unit and do a fast check on for instance what sensors it had and what it's EMCON status was by pressing F9 and when having skimmed the window for one-two seconds simply press F9 to close it. Likewise if you wanted to check what helicopter was on a frigate you simply pressed F6, looked one second and pressed F6 again to close the window.

The same did go for all other unit windows, ie Throttle and Altitude (F2) and Weapons F(8) and so on.

Now in CMO this ability is gone and you have to first click on the window and then move your finger to the Esc key to close the window
or
close it by using the mouse by klicking the X in the uppermost right corner (That works at least if you run the game in windowed mode).
Both methods are much slower than just pressing the same Fx key again.

I find this part of the UI to be much less optimized and there really is no rational reason for changing this that I can think of.

Do anyone else agree with me?

Is this a bug or as designed?

Logged, we'll see what we can do.

Next time someone tells you we just "reskinned" the game, show him this and other bugs and ask him if a simple reskin can do that.

I would just like to add that I, after upgrading to build 1121.3, recently noticed that now it is only the Sensor Window that is affected. All other functions (Plotting a course, ammo window, weapons window and so on) enabled by function keys activate and then de-activate/appear then disappear by pressing the relevant function key twice.

I thought it might be prudent to give the developers this information so your time is spent most effectively.

Keep up the good work you do!

I do agree with you. You often have to press F9 multiple times to get it to work. In fact, sometimes it is necessary to pause everything, and then hit F9 a few times before it will actually work. It is a bit annoying.
