I am going to be playing Fatal Alliances (WIF WW1) in February and I am wondering if this game can give me an idea about how the basic combat works?

I have been reading the rules but combat is still not clear.

Fatal Alliances is born from WiF, and the two games share a lot of concepts.

For an in-depth examination of FA, however, I think that nothing surpasses this YouTube series by Steven Dolges:
