Before I can use the shortcut keys for game speed and stop start� I have to press my mouse cursor on the main screen� Is this normal behavior� If so it�s not very nice .....

Yep, it's been reported a few times. There is an issue with keyboard input focus.

the shortcut to pause/unpause the game is very useful (space key), but when the map loses focus it doesn't work anymore indeed. For example click anywhere in the Group Status column, the shortcut won't work anymore requiring a click on the map to be usable again.
