I would appreciate it extremely much if somebody knowledgable could spell out at which camera heights a new more detailed layer is supposed to appear for, preferably, every map type (Ie Stamen - Terrain, Sentinel-2, Land Cover et cetera) there is. I was told by an admin that there were 13 layers to, as I understood it, every map type (He might have meant 13 map layers in total but that seems too low for how many map layers i have downloaded). I have found no information about this in the manual. The reason for asking is it's very hard to know if you have loaded the most sharp layer of a certain map type for the camera height you're using, especially with the downloads being slow and often stopping completely with the "new" sharper maps not appearing at all (I've never reached speeds above a spike of about 10 Mbit/s while downloading maps, often the spikes only reach 1-2 Mbit/s, and sustained speeds are far below that, and I have a 100 Mbit/s fiber connection that regularly downloads files at 12-13 Megabytes per second from all over the US and Europe). For instance, the land cover map is, for me, only downloaded in a layer at approximately >750 km camera height and a new layer at approx 300 km camera height. If I continue to zoom in and stop at either approx 250, 100 or 50 km camera height (Where I have noticed that a sharper version of the Sentinel-2 Satellite Map often appears) no new map is loaded regardless of how long i wait and the map becomes very unsharp at 50 km camera height. As I zoom in further to approx 25 km camera height the land cover map disappears completely and the underlying BMNG Layer Map is shown instead even if i wait for about three, maybe five minutes. Is it worth waiting five minutes or are there no sharper map layers for terrain cover than the map that is loaded at approx 300 km camera height? That is what I am trying to find out, for all the map types. In other words, the reason I feel this would be very useful information is it would give you (the player) the information necessary to make an informed decision regarding if it's worth sitting waiting for a new, sharper, map layer to download or if waiting for a sharper map layer are just time thrown away. I don't want to appear as complaining, I understand completely loading times will be higher for the first few months after release, I am simply asking for information to be able to make the best decisions in the current situation. Thanks in advance to the great work all the people involved in the production of this great game.
