PanzerMike gone wild!

How'd you get rid of the bevel???
-Mark R.

That is my dirty little secret, hehehehe

I just figured it out all on my own.
In retrospect it's blindingly obvious. Simply turn the black line to one of the other background colors.... doh... never thought of it until just now.

-Black stripe gone
-Larger airplane image (unavoidable to have some clashes with the hard coded symbols)
-German counters more greyish

Lot of work I can tell you...

My response?

Yes, I hope so. Looking forward to change of colors for Germans to light gray. Also, the Swiss being bright red is a real distraction every time I look at the map. Can we please tone them down? Am I the only one here? I really liked the original colors and I felt Alvaro put some serious thought into them. The new NATO icons are amazing, but I would love of version in the original colors.

I agree, some of the minor colors are over stated. At the same time, I think the original, official minor colors are understated - probably need a mid ground for me.
Regarding the Germans, I prefer the historical Feldgrau 1000x to the bland, counterfactual gray.
And I prefer the gold symbol fill over the white too, though that's relatively minor, in my opinion.
Just a preferences I guess - can't please everyone - that's why we have mods :)

Just give me PanzerMike's and I'll never go back. I like the standard gray Germans with white. I love his large planes without the black stripe. I like that he has the bottom third of the planes match the national country. It makes no sense to me to have yellow/green German land units with sky blue/red German air units. LOL!

Let me know what you think. If you have requests, you can always ask me. You may get lucky

@mroyer: if you wish to add the dropbox link to the first post of your thread, that would be great. Do you mind if I also post a link in my Panzer Map Mod thread?

I'm going to install it and try it out right now. Sounds and looks like you've made some great improvements. I might be begging for a return of the GIMP files so I can revert to Feldgrau though

This is your work - that it is derived from mine is secondary. You've put the effort in to produce it, you get to do with it as you choose!! If you put it in your thread, I'll definitely point to it in my OP. If you want me to host it in this thread, I'm happy to.

@Magpius. Like your map. Blast from the past. Do not think that Marks counters really fit however, too bright for your matte map IMO. Maybe my unit mod would be a bit more suited. It is slightly toned down. But the original units may be the better choice in the end. You planning to do a unit mod to go with your map as well?
