Pardon me if this has been asked before, but why do the AAW Patrol missions in CMO fly out at 2000 ft by default, even if the mission transit and loiter altitudes are overridden? This wasn't so in CMANO.

Perhaps I'm missing something but it feels stupid to manually adjust the altitudes for each AAW Patrol after they depart.

Thanks!

Hi,

That sounds strange. Any save that you can share that demonstrates the issue ?

I've noticed this too, along with ignoring the mission throttle settings while on patrol, but not all of the time and it is difficult to reproduce. When it did happen, I reloaded the scenario and it was back to normal.

Logged for investigation.

Are you able to provide us with a save file to replicate this?

Try this.

Look at Slay82 flight departing Al Kharj. It's at exactly 4000 ft. When I hit play on this save, it starts climbing to its mission transit altitude of 36000 ft. However, on the original playthrough, it stayed at 4000 ft. The mission transit altitude was always 36000 ft. Also, check the CAPs and see if any are at throttle settings other than loiter. I have to babysit that sometimes...

I feel like the issue might be performance related, as these problems seem to get worse if I'm running something else in the background or after a long session, but that's just my impression.

Hello and Merry Christmas!

Sorry about the delay, please find attached save file. In this case, I simply loaded a scenario and created a patrol mission. Note the flight staying at 2000 ft and at loiter speed even if they are not at the patrol area.

This is perfectly reproducible at my end - every AAW patrol mission I create transits to the station at 2000 ft and loiter speed unless manually overridden.

If it matters, I usually use repeatable loop option.

Okay, this is curious - I haven't tried this before, but when I loaded the save, the flight immediately started climbing and accelerated to cruise! They continued at 2000 ft & loiter as before when I continued playing for a moment when I was creating the save.

Also, it seems that if I plot any manual route to the aircraft on AAW patrol mission (and stuck to 2000 ft & loiter), it immediately goes to cruise speed and high altitude. So, F3 and make one waypoint "overrides" this behavior as well.

So, the problem concerns aircraft / flights that take off for an AAW patrol mission and are left on their own without any manual intervention.

Happens to me as well right now so I think this is already a bug.
