Status: offline 		This is probably a long shot, but hey...

I've noticed a number of reported missile engagements where the envelope seems to be larger than missile range suggests is viable or advisable.

In the depth of the calculations, could there be a unit mismatch, e.g. km / miles / nm?

I'm reminded of the fate of the Mars Climate Orbiter.
