Crispy made his mod for Fall Weiss on WiE before porting it to WaW. I have both games. I am also new to the Strategic Command series have only just finished one campaign of the World War I series and I had a blast. I want to now try the Fall Weiss mod, and thought this the most appropriate forum to ask this question:

What game platform would be best to play the Fall Weiss mod, WiE or WaW? I have both games and know not the differences between them to make an educated choice of which platform would offer me the most stable, and latest most up to date game for this mod as it's available on either platform.

WiE is the most up to date and best tuned, WaW is a work in progress but was still playable if I remember correctly. Also the most up to date version is available in the WiE forum and is for the WiE engine.

Awesome! Thanks so much! I did a LOT of comparing on mods and researched a lot of stuff and apparently THIS is the mod to try out! Looks very good! Thanks for the fast response, crispy! Very cool!

On a side note, anyone know what the differences are between WiE and WaW games, say, if crispy's mod for both platforms were equally updated? I'm new to Strategic Command Series having just bought all three games, WW1, WiE and WaW after watching TortugaPower's youtube vid on SCWW1. Played and finished that campaign and got hooked. Fun game.

The main difference is one of scale.
WaW has a global map, but at the cost of a scale reduction compared to WiE.

For the ETO/MTO I prefer WiE over WaW.
Both are great games though.

If you have all three, just start with the theatre you prefer.
These are all three fun and interesting games to play.

I run all three with IronX - running a campaign in WW1 and WaW (with naval mod).
Once I finished the current campaigns, I�ll start a new WiE campaign.
Running WiE and WaW at same time I personally do not enjoy that much - too much subject overlap.
