Right, AllenK is not around but has said he will take a chance and not intercept the 11-ship force (which he knows to contain the TRS and GARR (from last nights picture)).

As I can't save the game at this stage I will continue on the basis that he does not want to intercept the TRS.

The transport continues onto Cagliari, leaving its three escorts in the 0-box.

The next Italian naval move is a convoy moving into the West Med. Do the CW wish to intercept this time?

Dumb question: What is the number or hyphen in parentheses under each of the units in the picture? The unparenthesized number is the sea zone, but I have no clue as to what the parenthesized number is.

I am sure I could look it up, but I am posting this because I suspect others might not know what that number is either, and could benefit from being told. (Also, I am lazy. )

The number in parentheses is their search roll modifier. The units with hyphens can't search (i.e. no matter what they roll, they can never find).

It must be fine weather, or there'd be a search modifier for being in the 3 box.

Search roll? Do you mean invasion modifier? If it were a search roll modifier (which would be useful), the Axis NAVs would have a modifier.

Naval Movement: (Cont)
Italy

An Italian cruiser initiates combat. a 5-strength fighter flies to the 0-box. Three NAV and one LND join them - as does a German LND.

The CW have available:

a FTR - 0-box
a FTR - 1-box
a LND - 2-box
a LND - 2-box (or 3 with extended range)
a ATR - 2-box

I'm not sure how the Boston is in supply but....

What do the CW wish to do?

I could very well be mistaken - it could be the invasion modifier. Actually, now I come to think of it I'm sure I'm mistaken and it is the invasion modifier.

Yes, units on a coast remain in supply.

Which means it looks like everyone is invited to the party

Round 1

Allies - 6 (DX) - The Italians decide to lose the NAV (the pilot survives)
Axis - 14 (AA) - Where does the Hurricane abort to? If applicable shall I say from whence it came?

If it's my choice on what to clear through, then the SM.79 please.

Edit: Never mind. Just seen the next die roll.

I've no idea how this works so will roll 10 dice and this will be taken in strict order.

5
10
4
7
6
5
7
10
8
4

Looks like its the highest of 1 so there are 5 points. One aircraft is aborted and the background is Italian so I abort the lowest air to sea factors.

Assume its 13 points vs 6 bombers = 1/1. 5 points = 1 land based air aborted

That leaves the attack as follows:

With it being air attack, the choice alternates with Axis going first.
