I playing the game on my 28" 4K monitor but it is as jumpy as hell.

My current desktop resolution is 3840 by 2160. Can the game support that via switches. Im away from PC at the moment so I cannot check my current switch settings.

I cannot play in fs mode as the game animations literally jump and though they run fine in -w mode i miss some of the screen area.

So my question is can i run at 3840 by 2160? If not what would be the best x and y swith settings to a get a decent sized screen so that ingame animations run fine.

Thanks guys

You shouldn't try to play in window mode at your full resolution.

I would suggest trying combinations of -px and -py flags based on standard resolutions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_resolution#Common_display_resolutions

If it doesn't work, it should default to 1024x768 (I think).

Mine runs fine in full screen -px1920 -py1080

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -fd -altFont -cpu3 -multiaudio -px1920 -py1080 -deepColor -skipVideo

I have a 2560 x 1600 monitor. I created a custom resolution of 2540 x 1540. I use that as my resolution for the game. Works fine.
So try a custom resolution of 3820 x 2100 and see if that works for you.

Note that you can also use the -pxf and -pyf switches instead of the -px -py switches. The f forces the resolution. I find I get a small amount of lag/jitter using the f type of switch.

spelling error

One of those forced switches has letters in the wrong order. The "f" should be at the end or in the middle for both switches, no?

It is probably at the end. "p(ixel)x(-dimension)f(orce)", in coder parlance. Wouldn't make (as much) sense in the middle.

I changed it in my post, it was a mistyping. The f goes at the end.

I run 1280x720 on a 32" 4k monitor.

Can you even see the icons and read the text at 4k resolution?

I sure can't.

I do not have 4K monitor to see, but I have no problem seeing and reading text at 2540 x 1540.
My 30" Dell Ultrasharpe monitor is over 6 years old, so it may fail at any time. When it does
I will go to a 4K monitor.

I am sorry about your eyesight Hans, but some of us do have good vision. Is there any remedy for
your seeing problems? I am 73 years old and my vision sharpness improved markedly when I had cataract
surgery 8 years ago.

Nope. No solution.

I'm 62 and have had coke bottom bottle glasses since the 4th grade.

My left eye is 20/180 with 7.5 diopters of astigmatism.

My right eye is 20/240 with 8.5 dipoters of astigmatism.

Even with my progressive bifocals I struggle to read small text at close range.

With small printed text, I often have to remove my spectacles and hold the piece of paper up against my nose.

Without my specs my focus starts to blur about 4" out from my nose, but anything closer can be read in relatively sharp focus.

Since it isn't practical to hold my nose against the surface of the monitor, a very low resolution is the solution.

Don't you have an astronomy hobby? How can you see the image in the eyepiece? Use the telescope focus to provide correction like your glasses?

I have settled on a resolution of 2560x1440 at 4k. Everything is crystal clear. I run the replays on -f mode with no bleeding or jumping. I then shift to -w mode to do the orders as its easier to tab in and out to check tracker and so on.
