Aircraft on station on Patrol missions use their Transit speeds and altitudes rather than their mission editor-assigned Station speeds and altitudes.

This appears to be working. Can you please supply a save where it is not?

I've also noticed this. I wonder if it may be related to a bug I recently reported? The altitude discrepancy occurs once the automatic targeting logic starts.

In attached save:
1. Activate Ground Attack Patrol mission on OPFOR, 4x F-16 will take off.
2. In default state they will travel at assigned transit altitude (25,000') and station altitude (15,000').
3. While in transit or on station (it doesn't seem to matter), expand the patrol area west to encompass the 4 target buildings.
4. Automatic targeting vectors appear, and all the F-16s drop to 2000' AGL.
5. Adjust the patrol area so it once again excludes the 4 target buildings, all 4 F-16s go back to their mission assigned altitude.

I'm on 1121.3 via Steam beta.

Yes, if there isn't anything to draw its attention away, they proceed as expected as per mission orders.
But once it finds a target, .....

This is a known issue, Support missions don't use speeds and altitudes also don't turn on sensors. It is only an issue with 2 waypoints. Been logged on the Beta side.

The example scenario appears to play as intended in the current Steam build (11474) so I believe this issue has been resolved. Please let me know if you're still seeing the issue. Thanks.

Note that aircraft may still override the attack altitude setting if can't employ their weapons from that altitude or they need visual on the target and must descend below cloud cover.
