I'm looking for an opponent for my first PBEM game. Game version is stock 1126a, scenario #4 Guadalcanal. House rules can be discussed, but will likely at least cover unit reassignment. Since I've never done this before, it's hard for me to say how fast turnaround will be, but I should have game time about five days a week, generally in the morning (Pacific time.)
I've been playing WITP:AE since around 2010 (I think) with breaks in between, but I always get tired of playing against the AI. I know it's possible to have a challenging AI game if you impose certain restrictions on yourself, but to me, the whole point of the game is to be creative and find new ways to achieve your objectives. The AI is simply not equipped to handle the unexpected, so here I am, looking for a human. I may consider doing an AAR, but if a prospective opponent has an issue with it, I will happily refrain.
Despite my lack of PBEM experience, I feel my knowledge of the game is decent and I would not shun an experienced opponent. I have no issue with being outplayed! Eventually I hope to move on to a full PBEM campaign, so I'm happy to learn what I can from mistakes in this game.
