N/D 42 Allies 5

No DoW or alignments.

Naval: US
Land: China
Combined: CW, USSR

US sends CP's from Brisbane to Bismarck Sea and Truk. Wasp heads from Pearl to San Diego. US fleet except for 3 CL's leaves Pearl for Solomons 2-box. It includes Nimitz loaded on AMPH. They are joined by CA from San Diego loaded with MAR Div. CV, BB, 3 CA and 2 TRANS (MAR and MIL loaded) sail to Christmas Is. 1-box.

CW sends 2 CA to East Indian Ocean. Do the Jap subs wish to intercept?

The intercept fails on a 7. The two CA's stay in the 1-box. The Queens load the MIL in Aukland and sail to East Indian Ocean. Intercept?

On a 9, the intercept fails. The Queens stop in the 1-box.

On the other side of the world, AMPH at Norflok loads INF and heads to North Atlantic 2-box with 2 CL's. 4 TRANS from various ports in England sail to East Coast 0-box and load ARM HQ, MECH, MOT and INF.

Three areas available for naval combat.

First up, China Sea. US sub initiates. Do the Japanese want to add the A6M5 at Kobe?

Warspite1 doesn't appear to be around. To move this on, I'll assume 'no' as there is already air present and this being a fighter won't add anything to the combat.

Searches: Allies 7, Axis 4. No combat.

Second, South China Sea. Spitfires do some scouting patrols. Do the Japanese want to add any air? They Have A6M2's at Bangkok and Singora that can reach 3-box and Ki-27 in China to the 0-box.

I'm around. I agree with the comment on China Sea. I will look at the South China Sea and revert shortly.

Edit: The fighter in Bangkok flies to the 0-box please - and the fighter in Singora to the highest box it can reach.

Allies commit the Dutch sub.

Searches: Allies 6, Axis 10. No combat.

Finally, East Indian Ocean. The Allies decline but the Japanese can initiate if they wish?

Yes please - although I thought they were both disorganised - or doesn't it count if one tried to intercept this turn?

The earlier disorganisation for the intercept counts.

Searches: Axis 6, Allies 7. No combat.

No air missions.

CW rails INF Div from Addis Ababa to Djibouti.

TERR in Eritrea moves closer to the port.

Chinese cautiously continue eastwards. ChiComms also move some units east, retaking Nanyang in the process.

Rail Movement: None
Land Movement:
Japan

There is a general pull back everywhere

Invasions:
Japan

Two attempts are made:

Tarakan and east of Batavia

The odds are automatic without the notional and so I say yes to both. The attack on Tarakan remains automatic.

I try and maximise shore bombardment and add as many bombers as I can and this takes the attack to 3:1+1

I assume the assault table?

Looking at the tables I assume assault as there is no reason not to.

The throw is a 6 - the Japanese lose a unit and the remainder are disorganised.

N/D 42 Allies 7

No DoW or alignments.

All pass except for CW: Naval.

Spitfire and Hurricane from Gib' fly to West Med 2 and 1-boxes respectively.

Courageous, Glorious and Duke of York sail from Plymouth to Gib'. Escorts sail to the St. Vincent 1 and 4-boxes from Gib. TRANS at Gib' loads Belgium MIL and sails to Cagliari. AMPH at Plymouth loads Gort and sails to Gib'. Two TRANS leave Gib' for Biscay 1-box and load Spitfire and Hurricane from UK. They are joined by 2 BB from Plymouth. A couple of escorts go to the 0-box. Finally, the Dutch TRANS at Balikpapan makes a run for it. I presume the Japanese will want to intercept? What to disorganise?

Blast, forgot to copy the post before trying to upload and now lost it as timed out. As best as I can remember ...

Land: CW, China.
Combined: US, USSR.

US sends TRANS from Rabaul and Pago Pago loaded with INF to East Indian Ocean and Timor Sea. They debark the units to Batavia and Menado. AMPH from Pago Pago goes to Rabaul. Nimitz debarks to Truk.

Chinese continue cautious push eastwards.

US finished CVP rebasing on the Wasp at San Diego. P-35 from Wake to Truk, Hellcat from Midway to Kwajalein and P-40 from Hawaii to Midway.

Thought I'd better check. It's what I would have done.

The raid proves a disaster for the Allies. I aborted the Falco to Salerno. Hope that's alright.
