Has anyone used the 'Scenario Merge' function? I just tried and it seemed to stall - or I ran out of patience, but it was merging a really big scenario (Shoulder to Shoulder) into an almost blank one so maybe I should start smaller.

Gunner,
I have not tried this function. However, I have found that some scenarios freeze or stall when I attempt to update the database. I seemed to have solved the problem by turning all of the map overlay functions under the view tab off prior to updating. Maybe that applies here as well. Hope this helps.

I played with it out of curiosity when it was first released. It took a long time and I thing the dbs need to match, IIRC. Frnakly, I couldn't find a real use for it that was worth the effort.

There are certainly methods that achieve this, a series of scenarios based on one master for instance as many of the early NF scenarios were. My thoughts for using this are:

1: build a master file with the complete theatre, un-playable but a good baseline.
2: From the master carve away those areas you don't need for a scenario
3: Play that scenario to its logical conclusion, accruing casualties etc.
4: Set up 2nd scenario carving away what you don't need, including the area covered by scenario #1
5: Merge the new scenario with the end of scenario #1 save. Adjust as needed.
6. repeat as needed.

I would call the feature a nice to have and not a must have. I'll try the suggestion of reducing the map overlays and slimming down the size as best I can.

Tx
