This is a walk through played from the Red Army perspective, it may be of help to new players playing PACT.
This Senario is a 'Meeting Engagement' where both sided are moving towards contact.

1/ First move is setup time with the OMG (Operational Manover Group, - Red Army equivalent to a Kampf Gruppe, Battle Group or Task Force) strung along the road in Assault mode, these will swing south through Ostheim and up alongside the forested hills. To roar through Willmars up north to Nordheim, might be too obvious - I'll allways choose an indirect route.
I never use Hasty movement in a combat zone, Air Strikes and Arty or even an Ambush can ruin your day, try not to stack in the open and not more than two units in any other kind of terrain or Arty will hit you.
My SP Arty will target the crossroads leading into Nordheim, nothing better to shoot at, maybe get lucky or not..

2/ The OMG are travelling nicely with no traffic jams, - traffic control is something you learn real fast as Soviet..
You'll note the BR2 Recon is stacked with the armour, not kilometers out ahead and the SP Arty switching targets to just outside Nordheim.
The two BMP AA plts will travel up through Willmars to sniff out trouble - these are expendables, I have the excellent Tunguska's in company.
Morning Fog has burnt off.

3/ The T80 Btn slide into Nordheim just ahead of a Brit Battle Group, Challengers on the hilltop 3 km's away and accompaning Warriors spotted in the open on the outskirts of Nordheim - Any APC's / MICV's will get chopped up badly in the open - the slaughter begins..
BR2 Recon sits on the hill, a dangerously expossed spot with hindsite. BMP AA plts moving past Willmars and down the road towards Nordheim and a pair of Mi24 Krokodil's come in for support. 45 minutes elapsed with clear weather and superb visibility.

4/ The Krokodil's come in for the kill, disrupting the Brit advance but the Challengers slowly pickoff the T80's hunkered down in Nordheim with a Mot Rifle Co pinned just before entering Nordheim from the south. The Tunguska sits on the hilltop with a good sweep over the valley. As predicted, the BR2 Recon is wiped out by offmap battery fire..

5/ A savage knifefight ends with the Brits all but finished, my Units are dug in, getting defensive benefits in town/urban hexes. With a 'Rook' (Rus nickname for the Su25 Frogfoot) airstrike being the icing on the cake. 2 hours elapsed

6/ To late a Lynx makes an appearance to be tracked and shotdown by my Tunguska's. (All Helos are easy targets for SAM's and AAA, I usually don't call them in until all anti-air is neutralized.

7/ Confident that Brit anti-air is finished, my Mi24 Krokodil's are tasked with search and destroy sweeps, the T80 Btn move out west to Stetten and Hausen. Mot Rifle Btn HQ blunders into a Minefield on the south east road leading into Nordheim nearly wiping it out...

8/ Tactical Success at 79% - 2 short of a Decisive 81%
Nothing left of the Brit Battle Group but a mortar plt and off map Arty.
My losses were high but bearable, leaving nothing on the battlefield for the Brits to salvage.

Disclaimer: I've losted count the number of times played this tutorial, both NATO & PACT, each side has a bit of everything in their Order of Battle - Tac Air, Helo, Arty, Mech and Armour; and I know each others setup and strenghts.
I love the tutorial senarios, great fun and usefull to nutout tactics and updates..
might play the Brit-NATO side next..

Thank's for sharing Heinz. Much appreciated. I saw them in some modded scenarios before and liked them there alot. Glad they also exist for the regular scenarios.
