This seems to have been a bug for me since CMO. It's often missed I think as most people artificially reduce launch range via the WRA, but if you forget - or don't worry about WRA's for SHORAD... then this happens..

This needs to be sorted as it's been raised several times, I've yet to see acknowledgement ;-)

Watch the RIM-ESSMs from the USS Lassen - no way should those have launched on targets at 40NM away.

goodness....

Well honestly isn't it ironic when the chances of a kill at that range seem so low due to evasion and other POH influences... It's not something I have ever experienced. 110nm ! wow

Interesting to see what the outcome is, but I think potentially you're talking about changing the meaning of the Range ring visualisation quite significantly. Problem is the fuel or "energy" needs to match up to the new theoretical maximum effective ranges.
