Just finished a campaign with Entente in the triple alliance variant, and found the AI CP research prefrerences a bit puzzling:

All four spent full on in armor tech, lvl two weapons, and lvl 3 in warfare, with 3 chits for the fourth lvl. But only Germany fielded and used its tank (destroyed in one turn), they alos rebuilt it and was in the back row at the end, the AH at least built its first tank unit, but only reached the back row at the end, never got used. Italy and the Ottomans never even started building the unit, so they spent 1800 on research and 600 on building for almost nothing, would suggest to limit the armor research for Germany and maybe AH, Italy and The Ottomans should not even try this by the AI. And also limit the chance of three chits for the last lvl.

All four spent Heavily in artillery, lvl two in weapon and lvl 2-3 for shells. Which was devastating from the Germans, somewhat useful for the AH, and complete waste for Italy and The Ottomans, since they had no artillery units. Similarly, either limit the Italian an Turkish research in this area, or increase the chance for them to buy these powerful units (maybe add some event for them, to get it cheaper and somewhat forced for the AI)

All four spent quite heavily in the airtechs, which for Germany is ok, they sued it and had some effect, for AH it is questionable, probably would get better returns in other areas, and for Italy and the Ottomans, was mostly a waste, since they had just a few units, with little to no effect.

But almost non did infantry warfare research, Germany remained at the starting lvl 2, not even a chit in the queue, and the rest was at lvl one, or lvl zero for the Italians. This would be an excellent place for those armor mpps.
