Is there no US Entry roll for this?

For what?

For claiming the Finnish borderlands? No, no roll if the claim is allowed. However, if the claim is denied it is a roll for a Soviet DOW on Finland.
warspite1

I never remember, sometimes I think there is a throw for Eastern Poland or the Baltics? so why would it be different for Finland? Or Bessarabia? But then, I'm easily confused.

There is a throw for both Eastern Poland and for the Baltics.

No idea why they made that difference. Maybe because the Baltic countries were considered taken by armed forces? And Eastern Poland was taken by act of war. But the ceding of Bessarabia and the Borderlands might be consider a new treaty of some sort?

France:

And here I expected USA to debark a unit. But the TRS was empty. This happens to often for comfort. You embark a unit on a TRS and move it to a sea area just to notice that the TRS is empty. Grrr. As this is USA I am not going back to fix it. Time will take care of this error. Fortunately for me I usually check this before moving on...

Land Combat:
The TERR attack the Italian INF a second time. The odds is still 4:1. Will it be blitz or assault this time?

The French send their MB 152 from northeast of Paris to fight off the bombers and then return to airfields northwest of Paris. Hopefully they will actually hit something eventually

Ground Strike (Air to Air Combat Subphase)

As before the orders are clear and so no reason not to roll the dice at the same time.

Round 1

Allies: 6 (AA) - the French send the German bomber back to base
Axis: 16 (DX) - the French fighter is destroyed. The pilot is saved.

There is a little reorganising on the French Front

Germany

The German armour positions for an attack southwest of Brussels

Japan

The Japanese continue their westward march

Debark:
Japan

The GARR and INF are off-loaded at Haichow

Land Combat:
Germany

The Germans announce an attack against the clear terrain in Belgium

Japan

The Japanese announce an attack against the Communists holding the river two hexes east of Tianshui

The odds are 34:7 (4:1). Is Mao used for HQ support?

The Germans try HQ support with von Rundstedt. The odds are 37:17 or 2:1 (I think +2 or +4 depending on the table chosen) The Germans fly no aircraft. German fighters are as per the above less the 5-strength that flew. What about the French?

Land Combat:
Japan

Defensive HQ Support - Fails - a 7 is thrown

Germany

Attacking HQ Support - Fails - an 8 is thrown

So the two attacks are 4:1 no modifiers (Blitz) and 3:2 +4 (Blitz)

The Japanese Fractional succeeds (57 throw) and the land throw is a 6. The Japanese destroy the Warlord (let me know if that is okay) and the MIL is shattered (I do not convert)

The German Fractional fails (861 thrown) and the land throw is a 10(13). Two French units are lost and the third is shattered. The Armour survives and is shattered (I do not convert)
