Anyone in England or UK feel like helping a Yank out? I've been trying to buy a copy of each of the MegaCampaigns. I've only been able to buy Lost Victories, and Desert Fox seems unobtainable at any price. Watchtower is eluding me, but seems available. I've been burned by Military Hobbies in Canada, who listed it in stock when it's actually on backorder. They keep assuring me Matrix is sending them more copies, always "within a couple of days". I don't believe them anymore. Duchet in England (listed in links on Matrix homepage) shows it in stock, but I wanted to check before ordering it. I've tried to call the phone number listed on their site (0044-(0)-1291 625780) but I can't get the call to go through. I may be ignorant of international calling procedures never having done it before, but I've tried several variations of that number and can't get the call to go through.
Anyone have any advice, or would someone local to company ring them up and ask if this game is actually still in stock, then let me know here? I am also curious if someone possibly would be willing to act as middleman to get it for me and send it. This course of action was suggested by Cpt Pixel, who told me many players outside the US used US folks to help them out in the past. This just sort of reverses the process. I know Matrix is planning on re-releasing these, it just seems that that may be a long time in coming, and I'd rather get it now if possible.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
Tim

No, this is from a listed Matrix dealer in UK. I got the link from Matrix homepage, and they still list it AND Lost Victories in stock. Matrix shouldn't have any issues with this at all, I would be paying direct or through a second party to their dealer.

I didn't mean to suggest your inquiries were not legit...your sources are all valid outlets.

What I was referring to were offers from anyone to provide you with "instant" copies. :)

It was more or less a friendly public service announcement. lol :D

Cpt Pixel reccommended this because it can be much cheaper to for a local person to purchase game from dealer and then ship it for lower costs. If I buy it direct from Duchet the game and shipping/handling will run me close to $50 USD. I will pay that but wouldn't mind saving some cash if possible. Thanks for quick reply Orzel.

I understand where you were coming from too, and I would never participate or condone pirating these games and screwing Matrix. I want to give them any and all support I can, through purchasing their products and word of mouth advertising. I am eagerly awaiting CL and both new Mega and the re-releases, but if Watchtower is currently available I wouldn't hesitate to buy it now. I am currently playing MCLV for the first time, and it is GREAT. I want to try them all, but I fear I'll have to wait quite some time to try Desert Fox. Thanks for the advice.

So far the discussion here has just been between Yanks. Anyone over there able to chime in or help me? It would be appreciated, thanks.

Being a member of the design team for the new MC, I know what our timetable is for completion. I can't tell you what that is, but it's probably sooner than you think. And, while I have no direct knowledge of the marketing plan for this MC, I would imagine its debut would coincide with the rerelease of the other MC's.

As I said, your wait may not be as long as you think. :)

Bernie you really know how to get us (me!!!) going. I realize you can't say more, but that is great news. I assume this won't be subject to the same kind of developmental delay being experienced with CL, since you are using a proven system. I've posted elsewhere that I am eager to show my support for Matrix through tangible (read "monetary") means. I'd rather order the new and other old MC's direct from Matrix to do so, I'm just chomping at the bit.
Thanks,
Tim

BTW, where are you from in Brooklyn? (Saw in another post that you lived there at one time) I was born in Wycoff Hospital, and lived in Williamsburg for almost 30 years. :)

Bernie, grew up in Staten Island, lived in city for first 25 years, then here. I still have family all over metropolitan area. I went to high school in Brooklyn, in Bay Ridge. (Xaverian High School). I have to thank my high school for having a "wargamers club", that all my friends were in. They dragged me into this, although i thought myself a "jock", and that these games were geeky. Well, I no longer play any organised sports but golf (and if you saw me golf you'd dispute even that), but by God I'm still wargaming my little heart out.

Both Hawk and David Heath live on SI, as does a large portion of my family. :)

Xavarian...I remember that school... Been a few years though.

I saw Hawks location, but didn't know about David. Small world, eh? The city is a nice place to visit, but I have grown to prefer living elsewhere.

BTW, that "recruit" status has changed. I t was due to post number, I don't have an edit choice at cp. Would like the opportunity though, maybe Matrix could reinstate that little feature. A spell check on posts would be nice too, or maybe I just haven't seen it.

Take care Bernie,
Tim

Sure it's not on the "edit profile" screen in the CP?

As for spellchecking, I use a nifty little program called ieSpell Check that will spell check any text box on screen. :)

Ignore my earlier post about not being able to edit that text under name in posts. I just found it on cp, my apologies for being inattentive. I porbably missed the spell checker too, lol
